They've had not nearly enough appearances at this point.

He hasn't done enough to Merritt him going against Thanos of all people.

Now give him a few more appearances and I see him being able to take on Thanos, especially with what he did to Kon was any indication on how dangerous and versatile He'l really is.

Agreed. The he just doesn't have the feats to say how he does one way or another. So far it seems like he would be a good matchup but until he has a point where he has some more good showings and more importantly showings indicating what level he is vulnerable at it's really kind of moot to have him in any fights at his level in a discussion. Just don't know what level an opponent would have to be to really put some serious dings in him.

Two of his most dangerous abilities is being able to rip Kon apart on a cellular level, atom by atom, and his ability to fool Kara's perception into tanking he was actually Kal.

He's about to take on the Justice league in Superboy, let's hope they don't job him.
