Who takes this?

Thor should get the majority, more so (IMO) over DCnu CM than Pre.
Comparable power but Thor has had the more consistent high end showings.
CM isnt "the man" at DC, so the best showings dont go to him.
Add to that Thor having quite possibly the best fictional melee weapon of all time.

Your hardon for the blade is strange.

A lot of blades arent actually melee weapons to begin with.
The "knightly" swords (straight blade one handed cruciform hilt), like the ebony blade, certainly aren't.
Rapiers, katanas, also aren't.
Two handed broad swords, claymores, tulwars, better fit the description.
Heavy weapons not truly meant for thrusting, able to crush armor through sheer force and weight.
