Why is it so hard for DC to integrate Vertigo cosmology fully into the mainstream DCU, when Vertigo cosmology is clearly superior

Because the mainstream DCU is all about Superman saving kittens from trees and Batman hiding in the shadows, waiting for the right moment just to assault some obese dude, who defends himself with a f*cking umbrella.

Having Vertigo's cosmology would shift the centre of the DCU in a way that it could no longer be Superman centred.
