Can Namor defend planet earth 🌎?

Funnily enough, this is a great match up. Rom wins.

Namor would beat the life out of Rom. I like Rom, but he's not in Namor's weight class. This isn't to say that he isn't a threat, it's just that when you compare their run-ins with the Hulk, Namor did far better. Rom would be a great match for Darkhawk, or others from the Fraternity of Raptors imo.

Namor is, and has always been a threat to either though. I'd give him the edge over Herc these days with Hydroman's powers giving him the buff. Physically, he'd push either of them pretty hard. Thor is up in the air though, because of his new station, which should easily place him well above Namor, or Hercules.

Being a threat is one thing. That's not what I said.

He hasn't mastered Hydroman's powers, it's a basic form of hydrokinesis at this point.

It's his other amps that made the difference in his recent tussle with the Avengers.

I don't believe that Namor is above Hercules, or Thor (before the Odin power). It wouldn't be impossible for him to win, just that he'd have a helluva fight on his hands. Thor's lightning attacks would buff him, and Hydroman's powers would keep him from weakening over time. Because Namor isn't as long lived as either Asgardians, or Olympians, the longer the fight took the worst off it would be for him, as they don't tire at the same rate that he does. He could win, but they could as well. At least well written versions of them.

Team books tend to make the members of the team more vulnerable than in solo appearances. Just wanted to put that out there. Anyway, gotta crash, working a 12 tonight

I have a question about the battle between Rom and Gladiator. In a real unscripted forum battle, would Gladiator punch him once, and stand there startled after Rom, or any opponent got back up on their feet? One punch severely damaged Rom. What would 20 or 30 do?

You're missing out key pieces. Gladiator couldn't put him down, Gladiator had help. Rom didn't want to fight.

Rom REALLY is that good. Obscure to most casuals like yourself but a really good character

Rom is made out of nigh-indestructible Plandanium.

He casually no-sold Gladiator's heat vision and was surprised Gladiator's punch managed to inflict damage.

When damage is done, he registers pain. Doesn't mean it's some crippling injury.

Rom's own words said he was hurt. Not severely damaged.

An ant biting me would hurt. Doesn't mean I am crippled for life or anything.

I'm just not a fan of particularly bad attempts at using ABC logic and totally misreading what was said on panel.

The thing is beyond Rom being stronger and more durable, even after hulk blindsided and beats on him from top position enraged he is fine... The Neutralizer is haxx. The only time it failed was in neutralising the effects of Hulks gamma radiation and Rom was shocked it couldn't cure him. I am damn sure it would **** Namor up. Like Omega beams pis has to come into play to stop it. Once it is out, game over.

Colossus holds back because he doesn't want to hurt/kill. And Colossus was just fine after that punch, not KOed/hurt or anything.

I honestly think earthfall would be amazing. A seven foot got style Robot crashed into time square after crawly out of the crater, dust and smoke everywhere, people screaming, sirens wailing, his hand glows in a pink and scarlet nimbus, the neutraliser appears and he starts seemingly blasting away at people randy. The picture pulls back as a pretty blonde news reader on a TV screen starts to talk about, a killer alien robot, a massacre in times Square prelude yo an invasion etc. And we pan out further to see a pretty you girl (Brandy Clark) eating serial and watching the news report as more people are turned to Ash. Back at times square the survivors are shell shocked the Police arrive and start blasting away, Rom ignores them, the neutraliser vanishes in a flash, he balls his fists, his rocket pack flairs and he blasts into the air with a deafening roar, followed in a moment by the sound of a sonic boom and we are left with an image of devastation and terrified people, the sound of wailing, scared chattering, more sirens wailing and a woman crying. End of scene 1.

Interesting ego scan. What's more curious is that if Rom while weakened and holding back was able to stalemate Glads he most be even more powerful than Hulk/Hyperion combined.

See what I did there Rom seriously is top tier strength and durability. The Neutralizer is in the same way a well written Mjolnir is, completely overpowered.
