Holding the earth in orbit while fighting against forces strong enough to push it out of orbit.

It seems that these days replacing the solar system's gravity well and fighting against a force strong enough to move a planetary body is not impressive if done with two other top tiers.

And MM and Wondy get less credit than they deserve as if they are not among the strongest beings on DC earth.

So the question becomes, Who in the herald catagory is strong enough without any amping, based upon their feats and strength showings, to actually help Superman Keep the earth in orbit WHILE fighting against solarsystem altering force?

Also, who is strong enough to replace Superman and Help Wondy and MM hold the solar system's gravity hold on the earth?

Strong enough or have the right powers?

Because Hercules is strong enough, but he can't fly.

it would require over a gazillion tons of force

Why are you removing amping? Doesn't MM have to amp to hit that level?

If he's using his powers to increase his strength to higher than his "base levels" it's amping no matter how you spin it. I mean it's your thread so do what you want with the stipulations, I was just pointing out that it's hardly about "unamped strength" comparisons except in regard to WW.

It's not amping if he controlls his muscles. It's part of his shape changing. It's just like he can't sustain any of the powers that require concentration for extended periods of time.

He alters his muscles from the "norm" with his mind, so it's amping. Vision can control the density of his muscles, it's still amping. Surfer can control how much cosmic energy his muscles store, it's still amping.

Surfer amps by drawing on outside cosmic power to amp his muscles. That is Amping.

If Vision isn't normally that strong, it's amping. Most of the time he's not strong enough to bowl Thing over with a punch, it takes a specific mental "push" for him to be strong enough to do that

And Surfer continuously absorbs cosmic energy without effort the way other characters eat, are they drawing on an outside source? I'm not talking about him specifically absorbing energy from a star or blackhole for the purpose of pumping up, I'm talking about his ability to "will" himself stronger off his power stores.


Point being, if a character has to "increase" their strength to levels above the norm, it's amping. It's a sustained effort for MM to POSSESS that level of strength, he'd still get tired even if he was just standing around being that strong without having to lift anything. That puts it in a different category than BA getting tired after physical exertion.

MM was specifically noted in the opening as not getting enough credit for his strength, so I was curious as to the no amping stipulation since he was amping when he contributed to the feat.

Anyway to answer the thread, anyone who can fly can contribute to moving a planet.
