What are your favorite courtroom dramas?

Mine would have to be, in order:

1. Inherit the Wind (1960).
2. To Kill A Mockingbird
3. A Time to Kill
4. Murder in the First
5. The Client

What say you guys?

dadudemon
12 Angry Men (1957). Very well written play and an excellent movie adaptation. Excellent acting, etc.

Impediment
I would have listed The People Vs. Larry Flynt, but the film is so diverse, that it can't truly be called a courtroom drama. Fantastic film, though.

I would definitely say A Time to Kill. I watch this at least once a year, and I always thoroughly enjoy it.

I also like A Few Good Men, The Accused, and Presumed Innocent (even though I liked the novel more)

No, I don't think so...

There isn't a great deal of courtroom stuff is there? That's certainly not the focus of the film...

No, no there isn't. You're right too but all the courtroom scenes are awesome laughing out loud

Impediment
My Cousin Vinny is more of a comedy than a drama. Still, it's a damn funny movie.

GCG
Runaway Jury wasnt bad.

Kovacs86
I enjoyed Runaway Jury a lot, actually. Wasn't wild on the ending. It was a bit too... preach-y at the end...

Yeah, it wasn't a bad movie.. which reminds me I need to re watch it

celestialdemon
I would put Primal Fear up there.

Impediment
I've actually never seen Primal Fear. Is it recommended?

I would recommend it

Myth
I recommend it as well. Norton is fantastic in Primal Fear.

Quiero Mota
Other good ones: Rules of Engagement, Town Without Pity, A Man For All Seasons and lots of others I can't think of.

SnakeEyes
Not a big fan of this genre either...

Quiero Mota
Why do you limit yourself? Every genre has good movies.

SnakeEyes
Well, it's not like I haven't seen any courtroom dramas (not that I've seen a ton either). I've seen a few off that list plus some others (like Primal Fear, the second half of Sleepers, etc.) but this sub-genre just doesn't appeal to me that much. I don't deny there are good courtroom flicks, but I find most of them kind of by-the-numbers and... uninteresting I guess.

Rules of Engagement was solid.

12 Angry men, 50s version. Ditto. Although the remake was decent.

Did really like JFK too.

Rogue Jedi
A few good men.

Alpha-7
A Time To Kill

Quiero Mota
True Believer with James Woods and Robert Downey Jr. is another good one.

Robtard
12 Angry Men was good, the remake at least. Have yet to see the original.

I remembered that I made a similar thread, QM, and just merged them together. I edited the poll to include my own personal favorite, Inherit the Wind.

Inherit the Wind, to me, is a landmark title. Not because I'm an atheist, rather it speaks to me about tolerance and acceptance.

Sgt.Shakedown
To Kill a Mockingbird

Bouboumaster
12 angry men with Fonda in it is one of my top 5 movie ever
