Prep-Man
with the right eye of Ekron, Emerald Empress also wields a weapon of limitless energy and power. with it, she was able to take down pre-crisis superboy and mon-el. the eye is also indestructible. beings like superboy and Pulsar Stargrave couldn't make a dent in it by pure force and energy alone.

this is the type of weapon Larfleeze wants bad. can he get it from her? if so, how?

Endless Mike
IIRC the Eye was retconned into being a prototype GL ring. So Larfleeze should take this.

Prep-Man
I'm using silver age Emerald. which was the right eye of Ekron. Cosmic being level.

Endless Mike
Sorry, you didn't specify. Larfleeze probably still takes it

Prep-Man
probably, but it would be one hella of a smackdown.

The Eye was just a big fancy gun wasnt it? Or did it have some kind of versatility to it?

Q99
Prototype for a GL ring it may be, but the Eye of Ekron has demonstrated greater power than a power ring in several respects. Possibly due to it being part of Ekron, who may have been a being of tremendous power.

It could do all kinda of things. For example, Reboot Legion, when Shrinking Violet got it it started granting the wishes of Legionnaires, which unfortunately in Leviathan's case was to die a heroic death. So then she used the Eye's power to force the Legion to search for a means of resurrection.

After some legionnaries were accidentally freed from the Eye's control and tried to stop her, she realized things were going wrong, so she wished to turn back time, and half the Legion was sent a thousand years back in time.

So mass mind control, wish granting, and time travel for starters. Though I think the Reboot version when controlled by Vi is the strong version of the eye with the best showings.

Even in the other versions though, it has versatility. It uses blasts in direct combat (pre-crisis, the Empress defeated Superboy on a couple occasions), but it can also be used for scrying. It grants the wielder super strength/toughness. I think the pre-reboot legion had it do mind control too.
