So Konami is apparently doing a series of WiiWare games for their popular franchises that return them to their retro roots, possibly inspired by the success of Mega Man 9, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and Adventure Island: The Beginning.
Contra ReBirth was released last week and is both a sequel/prequel to the series and a return to 16-bit 2D run and gun. Castlevania ReBirth is being planned as a remake or sequel to Castlevania: The Adventure.
