Its not fear that weaknes him but doubt. Meaning if he heat visioned htem and it had no effect, when he was sure it would, then he would become weaker. I'm sure he was afraid of Tyrant but he went at him anyway.

Scarecrow and mr. Fear's toxins will severely weaken Gladiator. He'll begin to doubt himself and remeber all of his major defeats. This will weaken him severely, but the guy starts off at Class 100+ strength. If he's weakened by fear there is still no way he'll drop below class 25. One punch will shatter both.

Gladiator doesn't need to breath. There's no way he'd lose this.
