Which side do you think is overall more formidable in this department?

DC's homo magi is somewhat similar to Marvel's mutants or home superior.

Let's list the top 7 or 10 for each side and see which one is superior.

I'll list some. Best incarnations.

DC:
Dr. Fate
Mordru
Nabu
Zatanna
Wotan
Black Alice

Marvel:
Dr. Strange
Witchfire
Voodoo
Scarlet Witch (Non HOM)
Enchantress

Black Alice is a wildcard... think magical Amazo (with additional bonus that she temporary depowers someone whose powers she takes).

That makes it spite in favour of DC. Remove her and we have somewhat of an even match.

Good point. I should also mention Arion. Dude's a total beast.

If you had added the Spectre this would have been a spite thread.

Zatanna is underrated. Dr. Strange found out what she was capable of during a crossover. When her confidence is up, she's a beast.

DC team 9/10 (I give the marvel one in case their writers did it)

It seems like DC wins 10/10, or close to that.

alice can essentially steal the magical energy from any beings/items, thus rendering them powerless having said that, alice could pull the magical energy from wanda to such an extent that wanda would literally be unable to hold her own molecules together, and fade away

The only strong magic users from Marvel team are Dr. Strange (if this is classic) and arguably Dr. Voodoo.

On the DC team, you have Nabu, Black Alice, Zatanna... not to mention Mordru, who is pretty formidable himself.
