I wouldn't say he owned him.

shazam packed so much of his power into a single attack against mordru, that afterward, he was left with "barely enough strength left to stand."

mordru then reappeared and restored all of shazam's lost power, so he would fair better against spectre

imo, that's an ownage of sorts.. *shrug*
