To The Last Man
A Warhammer 40k Role-Playing Game

The Plot

INCOMING TRANSMISSION... SECTOR PERDITUM... 312TH DEATH KORPS OF KRIEG:

TRANSMISSION DISPLAYED:
This is Commissar Hestin Falkirk attatched to the 312th Death Korps of Krieg. We are
requesting aid on the Planet IV of your solar charts in the Sector, we need reinforcements, supplies, dammit we need anything! This is a request, no, a plea for aid from the Warmaster - the Orks are upon us, I repeat, the Orks are upon us... supplies are low, ammo is lower, morale is dropping and there is only so much I can do. There's thousands of them, thousands of unending waves of the Greenskins, we can't hold them much longer, we are pinned down without any clear conception on where to go! We need help!

MESSAGE OPTIONS...
1. RESPOND
2. HOLD
3. TERMINATE

...
OPTION 3 SELECTED... MESSAGE TERMINATED.

Welcome to the 312th Death Korps of Krieg, a battered and bloodied regiment that has just suffered a three month war of attrition against an unending tide of a splinted from an Ork Waaagh! For these three months, these three long months the regiment has faced countless defeats and countless more dead, supplies are running low and morale is dropping at an increasing rate. The Orks have made advances, crushing any resistance the Imperial soldiers have attempted to with hold, and for awhile things didn't look so grim - that is until even more Orks showed up from seemingly no where at all.

Plea's for aid have gone answered, the time for victories has long passed them, they fight knowing that they will not survive another month, they fight because it is all they know how to do.

Welcome To Hell.

Game Information

The War
Sector Perditum, (completely lost/goneforever in latin), was discovered by an Imperial investigation force and was soon uncovered to have habitable planets. However, humans weren't the only ones to find this, an Ork army was found and a Warmaster by the name of Grebraltin was called upon to fight the dreaded Greenskins and liberate the sector in the name of the Emperor and Imperium. They called upon many regiments, Cadia, Valhalla, Praetoria, they called upon the Death Korps of Krieg to besiege a certain planet known eternally as 'Planet IV'. Sent to an unknowing fate of doom and hardship, the regiment took to the ground, fighting the Orks as soon as bodies went planetside. For three months bloody conflict took place, for three months Ork and Human fought and died, bled and cried upon the field of battle. For three months, Krieg was losing.

The Imperial soldiers were pushed back to their own fort nicknamed 'The Colosseum' because of the hellish and inhumane fighting and death that occured there. A vast network of outlying trenches, mine fields, barbed wire, bunkers and other such fortifications have been built around to last for a substantial siege - the only problem is so many have died.

The 312th, the last surviving regiment of the three month conflict, took to the defense of The Colosseum in an attempt to stall the Orks until reinforcements arrived, strangely, their pleas went unanswered, ignored, forgotten, destroyed to keep a greedy Warmaster's honour intact - a defeat would only soil his perfect record. So now the 312th fights, uncertain of their fate minus the fact they were sent to die. Morale drops every day, the Orks send wave after wave towards them, draining their ammo and supplies... but recently the attacks have gotten bigger, stronger, the Orks realising that the time for action is now and they have been utterly relentless. For days on end the regiment has fought, holding but only just, waiting in vain for a response from the Imperium that has abandoned them. Now only raw courage and luck can save them, now only the stout will of Humanity is all that is left between victory and utter destruction.

Where does your fate lie?

Wargear
The world and universe of Warhammer 40k is full of magnificent and exotic weapons players can chose from, and a formal list has been written up for the players to examine and make choices based on the character they enjoy playing.

Lasrifle: The standard rifle of the Imperial Guard, it fires a shot of compressed ionized air. While alone it is not the most powerful rifle, combined and in massed numbers it can prove (and has) to be a deadly foe.

Laspistol: The pistol variant of the lasrifle.

Hotshot-lasrifle/pistol: Hotshot lasrifles/pistols fire a more super-heated shot which has a lot more damage than your standard rifle. However, they over-heat more easily and have a shorter range.

Heavy Bolter: A Heavy Bolter requires 2 men to fire it and is essentially a heavy machine gun

Grenade Launcher: Self-explanatory
Flamer: A flame thrower

Plasma Rifle: A very powerful gun that can melt through most armour. However, it has a chance to literally explode in the users hands and kill him.

Lascannon: another 2-man weapon it fires a super blast that is designed against armour. However, it can fire one shot and kill most infantry in that one shot.

Grenades: Self-explainatory

Chainsword: Most sergeants will carry a chainsword, it is essentially a sword but the blade being a chainsaw, they are tough and can withstand a lot of punishment and very deadly.

Power Sword: Essentially a sword that can slice through flesh and armour with ease at the will of the Psyker.

Power Fist: Like the Power Sword only in the form of a massive hulking metal fist on the users hand and arm. The ability to punch through just about any armour makes up for its bulky size.

Bolt pistol: A bolt pistol is more powerful version of laspistol, but instead of firing ionized air it fires a fat bolt slug that can rip through flesh.

Autocannon: A lot like the heavy bolter, autocannons are more powerful and a bit fasterto fire, they are devasting against swarms of infantry.

(*Please note the list is subject to change and any additions/tips are more than welcome*)

ChakraStrings
Name: Hestin Falkirk
Age: 38
Rank: Commissar
Homeplanet: Aldairia (a monarchy world)
Weapons: Bolt Pistol/Power Sword.
Personality: A grim outlook but an inspiring man, he gives speeches of honour and courage when the morale drops but is not merely a man of words. He leads from the front, which has earned him many wounds. He is charismatic but suffers from terrible depression when he is not occupied.
Backstory: Born on the Monarchy world of Aldairia, the young Hestin Falkirk took a great interest in things like poetry, the arts, but these things were useless in a universe at war. Within time, the Aldairians began recruiting various towns and cities across the home world to join 'The Good Fight!' and soon his town joined the list. Outraged at being forced to fight, Falkirk raised a militia of school boys and began disrupting the Imperial recruiting stations, he was soon arrested by the Imperial troops but instead of being executed, the local Commissar took a great interest in him. He could raise spirits and men to fight for a cause even knowing it may lead to their death, and sent him to the Commissariat to being training as a political Commissar of the Imperium. However, his love and sweet heart remained home on Aldairia and he was stricken with a slight case of depression, but knew he must finish his studies. As a juniour officer he joined many regiments, seeing fighting and gaining leadership abilities. It went like that for a few years until he was finally promoted to coveted Commissar position. At this, he was allowed a months leave and eagerly returned home to his sweet heart where they married within a week. But not even true love can save a man from duty and he was forced away from the one he loved and sent back to the front, his heart remained behind. He saw death on all levels, saw young men fall, old man die, his heart becoming steel and hallow. His wife sent him a letter one year saying that she had found another man, and he became an empty shell, taking his sorrow out on any enemy foolish enough to come within his reach. He became notorious for his lack of care for self, and was more than often nearly killed from leading a charge head first. Then he was sent to the Death Korps, he took the job voluntarily saying he had nothing to live for, and eagerly joined with a regiment literally raised to die. He was sent to the Planet IV and joined with the Crusade, going feet first into hell. Things were going good, the enemy were losing and even his own personal being was feeling more filled, he made friends with the soldiers and got to know them - and then the enemy came on them again. They were nearly all killed, the last regiment left alive, now stuck and trapped in this hell of a fortress. His plea's for aid gone unanswered and secretly, he knows the truth in this but could never tell the men for morale would surely break. Now he fights on, knowing that this fight may ultimately be his last - yet he embraces death, for a man who has seen it his entire life and had his heart broken - he welcomes such a thing.

Background:In an encounter with dark eldar Horus lost his troop, although promoted to a corporal for the victory, he never really recovered and fights his enemies till the bitter end. Rank: Death Cult Assassin
War gear: Two Power Blades and a Needler
Personality: A standard Death Cult fanatic: bloodthirsty (for drinking and spilling) and all the rest.

Bladewind
Is she allowed?

ChakraStrings
Hmm well, Assassin's are normally used in instance where the Daemonhunters or Inquisition mobilise there forces and use them as forward scouts or to take out key leaders. I don't think they'd really waste such a prized marksman in a unit like the Death Korps of Krieg to be honest.

Bladewind
laughingMarksman?laughing
Well if you say so...

Bladewind
Where is Quincy?

Liberator
Wish I knew. Half the people that signed up haven't posted...

Fair enough, we'll start it up, hopefully that'll draw some newcomers in as well. I'll post first, giving you guys a bit of background into the situation and we can adapt from there. Here goes nothin'.

Bladewind

Bladewind
Hey Falkirk stop hiding behind your men you coward!!!

Samurai100

Liberator

Samurai100
It seems I am the Last Man posting

Bladewind
I have returned.

Bladewind
You may not have noticed but I (Horus) have just arrived. So it can't that I resisted every of your commands for three months Falkirk.

Liberator
Well, we'll just say that you've been apprehensive since your arrival, how does that sound?

Bladewind
Cool.

Bladewind
Please don't catch Fernz. That would ruin the chance to do a expedition outside of camp.

Liberator
No worries wink

Bladewind
I know that you won't. I was worrying about Samurai100 trying to bring this little adventure to an end too quickly.

Bladewind
Don't intervene in my battle ok?

Liberator
Alright, I was reading up a bit more on my 40k fluff and I have decided that your death cult assassin is banned for not making any sense, at all, fluff wise. Death-cults are part of the inquisition and only used sparingly. They are exceptional fighters hyped up on drugs, not particularly bloodthirsty, just drugged out on slaught and other horrible things. The inquisition would not send a death-cult assassin to a world the Imperium has already lost and forgotten.

If they wanted to prevent the fall of the planet the Inquisitor would just requisition an entire Imperial army and send it at the planet. If they wanted to kill a damned ork warboss or chaos cultist there are certainly better canidates for the job and all assassins used by the inquisition, including just normal death cult, are far to powerful to let a player of the RP control. So in conclusion, no more Sandara.

Bladewind
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Death_Cult_Assassin
Nuff said.

Liberator
Are you suggesting Sandara serves Khorne...?

Bladewind
My little friend read the article once more and you shall discover that assassin does not mean part of the inquisition. (plus it mentions that deathcult assassins are cannibalistic).

Liberator
"Death cult assassins are often utilised by the Inquisition, the assassins' skill..."

They are apart of the Imperial Cult yes, but are often used by these Inquisitors. I didn't write that post a friend of mine did.

Anyways, I just don't think a Death Cult assassin would be stationed on a planet that is essentially doomed to die.

Bladewind
I think I mentioned that Sandara came from a nearby planet to fulfill her "mission", to kill enemies of the emperor.

Liberator
My apologies. She stays.

Bladewind
Thanks.

Bladewind
Wait... Are you expecting me to come and aid you too?

Bladewind
Lib it's time for you to post something.

Liberator
I AM BACK! The RP is not dead.

Bladewind
sleep sleep sleep sleep Bout time. wink

Samurai100
YES!!!

Bladewind
Ummm, we better do something. This RP seems to already come to an end. I mean you ment this to be the last battle of this armee, but we're being overrun already and it's just the fifth page!

Liberator
Nonsense! We aren't dead yet are we? wink

Samurai100
but were dying

Liberator
Aye, dyin', but we aren't all dead yet! Trust me lads, theres still plenty of tricks up this ol' Commissars sleeve. wink

Bladewind
That should keep us on our toes.

Bladewind
Question: Is this going to be a Tartarus scenario?

Bladewind
WARNING: If we battle craftworld Eldar Horus and Sandara won't survive it!!! I refuse to take part in such a battle.

Liberator
You'll see, you'll see. I dont want to give anything away, just know anything and everything will happen in some shape.

Bladewind
Alright but Tartarus scenario would be a wothy enemy.

Bladewind
Eldar don't use bullets my dear Liberator.

Liberator
They shoot little shurikens right? That's close enough.

Bladewind
The ammunition of the Eldar pierces the enemy or cuts him to pieces. It doesn't draw much blood, if at all.

Liberator
Fair enough, we'll assume thats what I meant and move on, I'll be sure to note of it in the future. Thank you for pointing it out.

Also, be on your toes, I've got another idea coming our way...

Samurai100
not again, can we at least focus on the Eldar for at least 2 days more

Liberator
Hehe, is the great Corporal Kagmar afeared?

Bladewind
Yes he is. He is shivering all over.

Samurai100
mad mad mad mad mad
