Because you hate Superman?

This was already done.

Batman-Prime
CM (DC) is Supes equal. 5/10

Superman has greater versatility, and when down to the absolute wire, is more powerful (though a few Shazam! close lightnening attacks evens that in this case), but it terms of a more conventional battle, they are equals, and Captain Marvel has the edge in terms of stamina, and is generally just as durable as Supes. 5/10 (or, more accurately, a dead draw, with both showing major bruising for their trouble)

Strength - Tie.

Durability - Captain Marvel.

Flying speed - Tie or Superman. Though in Justice, while not canon, Marvel was faster, which I feel he should be normally.

Energy projection - Superman. Though Marvel realistically is able to and has shown in the past to throw bolts of lightning from his hands which would cancel out the heat vision.

Reflexes - Tie

Intelligence - Superman.

Stamina - Captain Marvel.

The X-Factor: Captain Marvel's magic allows him to amp up his attacks, thus he can hurt Superman with physical blows more than vice versa and the power of Zeus is something he may also be able to tap into more, like Juggernaut is with Cytorrak's power.

In a pure slugfest, nothing but physicality, Captain Marvel can take it 6.5/10.

Add in everything else, its 50/50.

I would think that Captain Marvel would have a slight advantage but I wouldn't count Supes out

Although Captain Marvel has an advantage in a slugfest, Superman easily has the advantage in Strength, Speed, Durability, and Versatility. They are protrayed nearly even only Superman slightly wins.

However, counting feats and stuff like that, Superman wins 7-8/10

galactusischere
Stalemate or Supes slightly

I feel Superman is stronger since he is stronger than Hercules. Superman holds back (has mental blocks) and that is why he seems to peer with alot of class hundreds. But when Superman gets serious he becomes in a class of his own.

Superman is faster by many feats and possibly more durable.

Superman has extra powers (freeze breath, hv, vibration, etc.) and better fighting skill.

I would give a serious Superman at least 8/10 and a normal casual Superman 5/10.

What a conveniently dishonest post.

Really? Care for a battlezone big grin You understand, Superman's feats are just plain better then CM's.

CosmicComet
Superman's outside feats are superior simply by default due to Cap's lack of exposure. Nothing more.

Marvel cancels that out by direct showings against Superman himself.

You conceded that Cap would have the advantage in a slugfest but then tried to weasel out of the reasons why he would have that advantage by claiming Supes "easily has the advantage in Strength, Speed, Durability." (left out versatility as that does not adhere to a slugfest)

This is entirely dishonest. Marvel has the advantage in a slugfest because he's the equal, superior, or slight inferior in pure physical stats.

He is not Dr. Strange, the magic angle is entirely overplayed, it is not like kryptonite. Marvel a flying brick who has some limited spell casting/magic amping on top of equal strength, better durability, slightly worse flying speed and equal reflexes, and better stamina than Superman. THAT is why he is most recently being portrayed as the better slugger between the two.

And the holding back angle goes both ways for them, and it is shattered as an excuse on the part of Superman advocates when we have seen Marvel physically restraining an Eclipso controlled Superman twice. The first time he went blow for blow while fighting conservatively and restrained Eclipso Supes before a distraction got Supes the upper hand. The second time Marvel held back even more before headbutting and restraining Eclipso Supes with a full nelson again. Eclipso Supes was visibly straining to break the hold and even after headbutting Marvel in the nose with the back of his head still failed to get out. It was only after Marvel turned back to Billy with the lightning attack was Eclipso Supes able to get out by grabbing him while he was Billy.

And please don't go on with the 'nearly' equal qualifier. You are creating this phrase on your own. Marvel hasn't ever had to suffer from such a description the way Wonder Woman or Mr. Majestic have. They explicitly say 'equal' every time. Supes says it, Spectre says it, others have said it. And the fights show it as just that.

PIS being turned off, Marvel is actually the superior, such as when Alex Ross is in charge and such as during the Golden Age when Marvel was an order of magnitude more powerful a comic book hero. PIS being on, Marvel is actually downgraded to just a peer.
