It came out in August. I was thinking it was a little soon for sequel news too. But hey, if they can pull it off more power to 'em.

I've yet to play the first but I've heard nothing but good things.

I got the game yesterday...completed it last night, and I gotta say I quite loved it, it was challenging which is kinda difficult to find in some of todays games. The graphics were really good and I found the boss fights to be pretty good but kinda repetative since there were Hench men with Venom in them each time, the only boss fights that were different was the Poison Ivy and Joker fights, I'd put Killer Croc in there but that wasn't a fight

I hope Harley Quinn's new uniform stays.

Though I'd kill to see her in all leather with a cat o' nine droolio

that would be great.....think about the possibility's....you could have the entire old school cave with a new school spin. but you could have batmans costumes lined up in a row like his,robins,bat girls and nightwings were in the cave during Batman Beyond.....heck they could even give you a trophy room were you can keep your trophy's from beating the bad guys.

no to mention access to the Batmobile so you can drive around Gotham!

this could be the coolest game in the entire world....and it better have free roam after the game is over....that's important to me ESPECIALLY if it's all around Gotham.

Batman: Arkham City will swoop onto video game consoles and PCs in Fall 2011, according to new details released today.

This sequel to the 2009 blockbuster Batman: Arkham Asylum once again pits the dark knight against the Joker. But instead of taking place on a shadowy island-prison, this new title brings players to "Arkham City," a "heavily fortified" district of Gotham City.

The newly announced name is not a total surprise. Publisher Warner Bros. registered a slew of website names in July. Among the 15 domains were ArkhamCity.com, BatmanArkhamCity.com, CityOfArkham.com, and CloseArkhamCity.com. (Here in the newsroom, we were rooting for the more evocative BatmanAshesOfGotham.com, but there's plenty of room for a trilogy, right?)

Beside what's listed above, everything else is speculation. Developer Rocksteady Studios, who went from nameless to famous with the success of Arkham Asylum, has kept tight-lipped about the project. But what do you expect; the game is still more than a year away.

Restless fans can pick out more details from the teaser trailer embedded below, and look for the September issue of Game Informer, which features a bruised Batman and leather-clad Catwoman.

Fall 2011? Last I heard, it was gonna be out sometime spring 2011. This changes things mmm, not that I'm complainin'.

i liked the co-op single player.

The atmosphere and story of the first game were so strong that co-op would do nothing but hurt it the game play.

i can see why it could cause problems, but there are ways around it imo.

anyway, i doubt they're going to have it in the game. just showing us that he'll meet selina in it is big news in itself.

That Catwoman design looks a bit like the one from MK vs DC. Which I wasn't too fond of.

The MKvsDC version of plenty of characters sucked. Didn't mind the Catwoman one though.

That Catwoman looks more like a realistic Jim Lee version more than anything, at least to me.

Looks sweet... but Fall 2011 is stacked with sooooooooo many GOYT contenders. Some games are going to get pushed back into 2012 (hopefully not Batman: AC) just to get out of the way of the juggernauts. Poor Batman, Nathan Drake is about to kick your butt again just like 2009... only this time Commander Shepard will too

i very much enjoyed the announcement trailer on the VGA's.......i almost peed myself!

They really are both Batman and Robin fighting crime: Batman artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger.Wealthy a fictional entrepreneur Bruce Wayne and his ward Dick Grayson lead character created by a double life.

the various details about this game have me very excited, especially the add-ons to the hand to hand combat...

What are you guys hoping for in this game that you felt was lacking in the first? I love the Arkham Asylum, it is one of the first game I bothered to Platinum on the PS3, but I was really disappointed that their was no unlockable costumes (other than the trail mode armored version). One of my favorite parts of that Wolverine GoW clone that came out was collecting the different Wolverine costumes. It is a small thing but it would add immensely to my enjoyment of Arkham City.

agreed with the costumes thing, but i'd want it to extend to the villains too (like harley), so that they could be comic-accurate.

alternate characters (nightwing/robin).
co-op as an option could work, but its a long shot.
more replay value (like, starting the game again once you've completed it, but keeping all your gear and abilities).

I would like to see a co-op feature implemented. It doesn't have to be apart of the main campaign though, in fact it might be better if they created just a separate set of mission-like levels designed around Co-Operative play, similar to the Black Ops missions in Modern Warfare 2 and the Co-Op in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Only got to play an hour last night, but liking it so far. You're able to roam around freely instead of being forced to complete tasks in order. Side missions are a nice touch. The controls are the same and the fighting seems a bit quicker than before.

Yeah, you can literally play Arkham Asylum, beat it, and then jump into Arkham City using the exact same control scheme and not miss a beat.

I'm loving the hell out of this. From a game POV, it's great. From a comic book perspective, it's extraordinary. Obviously, the more into Batman you are, the more you'll love this game.

seriously Pr this game continues to blow your mind even after you beat it! It's more then worth going out and buying a console!

I'd have gotten it on pc the day it came out, but sadly wasn't able due to it being delayed. I'm worried that my laptop won't run it (though it continues to run Arkham Asylum quite well), so if i have to buy a console to play it, then so be it.

There are several other games I want to play anyway, so it works out.

I just beat the game, and by God, it's insane.

Even more insane are the possible spoilers to what the third game could be.

With games like arkham city it's worth it.

The only deals I've seen are the 160gb for 249.99 (canadian dollars), or the 320gb for 299.99. I was going to go with the 320, as i plan to download a lot of games from the psn...

i am going to try to get the collectors edition of Arkham City though.
