why do you say that? when they fought, it looked to me like captain marvel was winning.. The only reason he lost was because superman used captain marvel's "shazam" against him.

Although, in the cartoon, Superman was clearly getting the better of Captain Marvel when they fought.

H/P Doomsday wins 10/10

In the TV JLA Supes vs Captain Marvel fight:

1. They each fly into each other with a punch at great speeds. CM is sent back to the earth smashed.

2. They beat each other up for a bit.

3. Superman repeatedly smashes Marvel with a bank vault and KO's him.

4. Superman does a twister maneuver and drills underground. Marvel regains consciousness, follows him and engages him again, only to get KO'ed a second time (although he might've been faking, but I don't think Marvel is that lame).

5. Marvel uses his smarts/Shazam lightning to almost win, but Superman turns the game around.

Winner: Superman.

Actually in cartoon it was pretty even. Cap Marvel got some good shots as well. Supes had to beat him up with a vault.

You're right. Havent seen it in a long time. Although at 1:20 Cap delivered some serious ownage. plus Supes had to use the vault to ko him. Kind of unfair. Second time wasnt really a ko. But overall, yeah Supes was dominating most of the time.

You know what, I just noticed how many buildings got destroyed in their fight, that would've meant a lot of people were killed. I don't think either of them would've let this happen.

At least Supes had a reason because he thought there was some sort of impending explosion from Lex's machine. Marvel was just being a *****.

He thought he was protecting the city, both acted like idiots, they should've teamed up and kicked Luthor's ass instead. Also, the buildings were empty. I think Lex said they've just finished building the neighbourhood.

Everyone knew the buildings were empty. The fight went down at the unveiling of the new neighborhood. Supes flipped out because he saw what turned out to be a low cost energy generator that was lined with lead and thought it was a bomb. It was an intentional plan by Luthor to make Supes come off looking bad, and it worked. At the end of the episode, Captain Marvel chews out the Big 7 for not acting like heroes anymore and quits the Justice League.

I love that episode...

Billy never get tired (unlike Supe)

The cartoon was actually completely lopsided cap did nothing. cartoons are for children and dont represent what the characters can really do in comics. cap performed no offensive attacks at all that even phased supes in the cartoon and im not including the lightning bolts.

more like stunned him. he only let out a small flurry of punches one time supes did it 3 times. In the comics cap is closer t o supes as a peer. In the cartoons. 90% of the people watching are children and dont even know who captian marvel is.

Actually Captain Marvel (DC version) fought an eclipsed Superman in a comic so their fight was canonical. Marvel appeared to be winning until he said Shazam, and reverted to Billy one time too many. In a test of strength they were dead even. Superman punched Captain Marvel from California to Hawaii, and Marvel wasn't even fazed. Marvel is a tough SOB IMO.
