So I've been reading the GC vs IoM thread and wanted to give IoM an opponent that's tougher. Much tougher and similarly dogmatic.
Lord Lucien
I thought that said "Indian" empire for a second.
ArtificialGlory
I guess I'm just going to have to conclude that the Idirans crush the Imperium. Well played.

What are the Idirans?

A religious-dogmatic civilization from the Culture series. They are more than happy to wage war on "less divine" species, which is basically everyone else. The Idirans were capable of fighting the Culture, but in the end they were completely crushed.

The Idiran/Culture war resulted in 851.4 (give or take 0.3%) sentient casualties, according to wikipedia. The Culture apparently had artificial planets capable of moving, but is noted as being a hyperpower in the setting, and the war concluded in 48 years.
I think it's safe to say the Idiran will be outnumbered, at least.
Hm. Have any destructive/durability feats for the Idiran fleet?

851.4 billion sentients, but this is a very low number because the Culture is very, very good at and prioritizes preserving sentient beings. The war also resulted in the destruction of 91,215,660 major warships/starships, a good deal of them likely Idiran since they were outmatched technologically, strategically, tactically and later numerically. I think that should give you a pretty good idea of the size of Idiran military.
As for the power, Idiran warships are capable of quickly and easily destroying planets with conventional weapons and probably entire star systems using Gridfire(and they can do it from light years away). They usually don't, though, because their religious doctrine tells them to take and hold enemy territories, and ultimately convert them to their religion. Also, their ships would run circles around Imperials all day long as they can travel and fight at greatly superluminal speeds.

So did you make this as spite then, or are you just mentally retarded?

Apparently the entire war destroyed two suns. Hm.
ArtificialGlory
If this is spitey, then we can throw in Necrons, Tyranids, and Orks on the Imperium's side.
About the destroyed stars: apparently nobody was really trying to destroy them as both the Culture and Idirans are quite capable of exploding a star.

Its weird how Nemebro gets insanely butthurt whenever he percieves a thread as being spite. It's like a peeve or something.

Imperial ships, or even Necron ships, to my knowledge can't.
But adding in Necrons does allow clownery like the Celestial Orrery.
Imagine a giant light-brite. Now imagine that each light represents a star in the galaxy. Now imagine that if you put one of those lights out, that star goes supernova.
This is what the Celestial Orrery does.

NECRON SHIPS CAN FIGHT AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT SHANE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

That's pretty insane. I assume one could destroy every single star in the galaxy in seconds using this device?

The Imperium of Man wins because I don't know who the opponent is and what I've read in this thread about them sounds lame.

Unassailable logic right here.
