On Earth in Chicago. Optimus has his trailer full of attachments. Two rounds:
1. Comic Hal
2. Movie Hal
Who wins each round and why?
Impediment
Both versions of Hal use their power ring to make a garbage compactor to smash Optimus into scrap metal.
Supra
Done and Done, Optimus Prime is still cooler
BruceSkywalker
Prime ftw in movie version..
comic book Hal ftw
Kazenji
So Bay movie Optimus Prime then
comic one would do quite well too.

no only one version of hal wins

Movie Hal can easily overpower Prime.
Nothing Prime has could penetrate a force field created by Hal, and Hal could easily create anything with his mind to turn Prime into a paper weight.

how?? movie hal didn;t show range with his constructs....
marwash22
chainsaw
mini gun
car engine and wheels
catapult
two fighter jets
lol.
creating constructs with moving parts is no sweat.

lol , please those things will miss Prime.. its not like Prime always stood still.. the car engine with wheels, HAHAHAHAHAHA
chainsaw??? don't remember remind me what the chainsaw did??
mini gun, Prime has bigger guns, lmao
catapult was nothing as well
the fighter jets, where, remind me again
EDIT, Green Lantern coming back on HBO tomorrow will rewatch after NCIS/NCIS:LA
marwash22
I'm not saying he will use any of those things to defeat Prime. I listed them because you claimed Hal didn't show any range.
Hal creating fighter jets, which have thousands of moving parts illustrates his range.
he also made some kind of cannon when he blew up that tanker against Parallax.
also, like IMP said, nothing Prime has will get through Hal's shield.
Impediment
Yep. Optimus' guns or sword wouldn't be able to penetrate Hal's shield.

Haven't watched the movie in a while, but what makes you assume his consctructs have actual moving parts? And aren't just energy acting like he imagines the real object to move?
NotAllThatEvil
Well by that logic, wouldn't a giant magical trash compactor still crush optimus if that's what he wills it to do?
jmoul
Fighter jets were at the end of the movie, right before punching Paralax into the sun. Chainsaw was in the training match with Sinestro (correct my spelling if it's wrong) on Oa, where he cut the sword and rope around his neck.

I'm not arguing Optimus would win if it's Bayformers. Just arguing that as the Ring is powered by his imagination and will, his constructs don't necessarily have to have moving parts. It's all just energy reacting to his wants and needs. Like a catapult would still launch things, but it wouldn't necessarily have all the components of it's real life counterpart. A jet would fly, but it wouldn't have an engine. A mini gun would shoot laser bullets, but it wouldn't have all the working parts of a mini gun.
Now comic Prime on the other hand is a pretty big deal and would probably make Movie Hal work for a few wins, and take some himself, if not a slight majority.

You're using comic book knowledge; the constructs weren't portrayed the same way in the movie. When they created swords, the swords were actually metal. When Hal made guns, in both instances, you could see actual shells coming out of the chamber before dispersing. When Hal made that hot wheels track, the engine was real. Also, you can clearly tell that throughout the entire movie, when a Lantern creates a construct, it's made of different materials like metal, rubber, etc.
Kilowag recreated a miniature sun with real gravity... the constructs certainly have the same properties of their real life counterparts.
The constructs were not portrayed as just being hard light like in they are in the comics.

yeah but since is MOVIE HAL.. Jmoul states that Prime goes up against movie hal and comic book hal, not them together.. comic book hal beats Prime effortless.. going by what i have seen onscreen unless the rules are being changed movie Hal sucked badly, his constructs will not do a damn thing to Movie Prime , but I will rewatch Greren Lantern later but I already know the damn truth
by that logic nothing Hal showed onscreen will even harm Prime
marwash22
i honestly don't understand what you're saying.

So the ability to create nuclear fission on the fly totally doesn't faze OPrime...that's cool.
BruceSkywalker
ok just watched Green Lantern on HBO, i was correct,, Prime wins this.. Movie Hal's constructs aren't anything at all..

you or marwash can answer, what shields you speak off because i can go with one or two answers as my rebuttal
NotAllThatEvil
Wasn't a big plot point in the first transformers movie that human guns and weapons COULD hurt the giant robots? How are the constructs that different.

I will answer for them. They mean the shield that Hal used to keep Paralax at bay for a while in the movie, and Paralax wasn't exactly small then. So I don't think Prime's weapons would do anything to break hat shield
the ninjak
Passive Shields protected Hal from the heat of the SUN!
It's his Will that justifies how strong his shielding in. Parallax sent fear into him during his more weaker moments. But when he overcame it their is nothing Prime has that can pierce it. Plus Hal can fly rings around Prime and let the constructs wear him down if not outright crush the robot.

sorry but Hal's shield is weak.. Parallax fired at Hal and Hal flew backwards up against a vehicle.. oh and if you mean his costume, that isn't a shield..

they aren't any passive shields, that was the two fighter jets as well as colorful cgi effects that kept Hal from being krispy..
not the constructs Hal showed in his live action film

Considering how close he was to the sun and the after burners on the jets, I think he has some sort of sheilding.
Also besides being metal, what defence does prime have?
K-Dog
Concerning movie Hal: He has pretty high durability, since that attack by Parallax caused him to strike a car and knock it a long way. It barely hurt him. And as close as he got to the sun shows an incredible durability to extreme heat, gravity, and radiation. Except for the sword, I don't think Optimus can physically hurt him too much unless he really gets him pinned down and repeatedly hits him. But that isn't going to happen. He can fly, and his constructs can probably destroy Optimus.
If this is "super Optimus" that defeated the Fallen, it may go to Optimus.
