Well first because this should be in the video game forum, but the real problem is that the video game forum already has a Sephiroth vs. Link thread, which is 104 pages and currently locked.

How is this not cross genera when Sephiroth is from a movie, like this one? This meets cross genera criteria.

Yea that this is cross genera.

The rules consider the character's origin for threads. Sephiroth first appeared in Final Fantasy 7, so he's considered a game character, though movie feats can be used for him.

Still shares the same world as the game which is something you don't seem to be quite grasping. If the movie Sephiroth is in were as different from the games as, say, the live action Resident Evil movies, you might have something but considering this Sephiroth is the same one, we're not interested for it'll just reopen old wounds. No offense.

Now, as for the matter at hand, which versions of Sephiroth and Link are being debated here?

I have previously stated that cross genre means movie vs game, anime vs comic book, manga vs novel, etc.

True, Sephiroth originated from FFVII, a video game, but if the movie version ONLY wants to be used, then it is allowable. However, we must abide by the rule of screen feats only when discussing film. Sephiroth will not have materia or his god-like powers as seen in the game.

So, I ask again: Which version are we discussing here? After all, the rules CLEARLY state (See Rule #5) that the OP must define which versions are being used.

FYI, I agree with Nemesis; this has been done to death.

Did Sephiroth get any new feats since? And yes, it was cross-genre. His feats in Advent's Children were taken into consideration.

This isn't a fair match up as I have learned cartoon link was not fit for this battle.
