I thought Pre-Daemon Perturabo would be a better idea, didn't Daemon Perturabo corrupt a Forgeworld conquering it by doing so or whatever?

Yeah, he corrupted an entire Forgeworld with sorcery.

Pre-daemon Perturabo still wins in most cases. Even accounting for low Primarch feats.
