Here's some new news regarding the sequel to the American remake of The Ring.

i was watching the trailers before team america and i saw the preview of the ring two. my friend told me that the ring was actually based on 3 books. so i'm pretty sure there will be the ring three. anybody read the book or seen the original ringu movies?

Hm, i liked the first ring i tought it was a pretty good movie, but i thought that they helped that girl, so how is it going to continue?

if i remimber correctly .. they helped that girl by copying her "DEATH" tape. IE: helping her kill more people essentially so she let them live .




Ive never seen any of the originals, but my guess is that ALL tapes must be destroyed to end her killings ???

if you watch the ending of the first movie, the kid was telling his mother that she wasn't supposed to help her. i never really understood why.

yeah, theres three movies made in Japan Ring, Ring 2 and Ring Zero, havn't watched them though, one of my friends has them but i dont watch them, didn't like the first one so i dont see any reason i'd like the second one, it relied on the old "no theres nothing there, what about here BOO" tactic thats tired and worn, not liking it at all. And wouldn't someone last alot longer than 7 days or whatever with water, i know you die quick with no water but she was floating in the stuff.

possible, but they figure out that she did in 7 days, hence 7 days to figure out the puzzle....then again, i supose it is just a movie

The japanese film was bad enough. The American adaptation was even worse. Please...No more ring movies. Diddnt everyone get the POINT the first time around?

yeah, no shIt. the point was simple... don't watch the f*cking video. but, like itor not, there will be a third movie...

(i'm ashamed of this) i was scared of the american version but the japanese version had me rolling on the floor, laughing so hard with my friend.

i just saw the preview for it in "meet the fockers".

The second American Ring 2 isn't even a remake of sorts, they have made it with a different 'original' story.

I enjoyed the first remake immensely, and I am looking forwards to the second one with Naomi Watts, and Sissy Specek(sp?). So can't wait. Both good actresses.

Do indeed, some decent scenes in the second Japanese film.

i don't get why people don't like Ring. It looked good the acting was not terrible the story was not half bad and when the girl came out of the tv at the end i thought it was pretty scary. Just because somone isn't eating soemones brains doesn't mean its crap. Though movies where people brains are being eaten can be pretty cool too just take for instance the pic under cinemaddictions name. Now that was a great movie too for different reasons

Unfortunately, she won't be returning as Becca for the sequel. On the good side however, she has a lead role in an upcoming movie that's going to be really awesome!

I actually thought the first one was surprisingly good. That little girl creeped me out man. fear Not sure what they're gonna do for part two but the trailer looked pretty good.

^^Hmm...sounds kinda repetitive, I'm thinkin if maybe this is one of those movies that they prob should have left as one film, instead of making sequels out of it.

I like thefact that the movie industry decided to make The Ring II because the first one scared thecrap out of me lol. It was a great movie can't want when it comes out! 4 REAL MAN!

Don't count on it. It's easily the worst movie I've seen thus far, right behind Elektra. A few cool camera gimmicks, nothing more. It's more drama than anything, and DEFINATELY not even a Horror, much less Suspense.

I wish I were the one falling off the cliff into the ocean after that mess.

What was Sissy Specek like?

You know what remake I think will do incredibly well, Dark Water. It looks wonderful.

Sissy Spacek had all of 3 minutes of screen time, in which she was average.

3 minutes? urgh. I've been looking forwards to seeing her in it.

This movie was ass.

The only cool part was the reindeer scene.

Samara's mom, in the nuthouse, when Rachel went to visit her. They spent about 3 minutes together, and that was it. Obviously, continuity wasn't a concern for the filmmakers, since Sissy Spacek looked NOTHING LIKE THE MOTHER SEEN IN THE MIRROR!

The movie was absolute garbage. The deer scene was intense, although it didn't make any sense. Supposidly, the deer recognized Aiden was possessed by Samara. Samara wasn't the one that hunted deer, it was her father, since later in the film you see all the troves of antlers. What significance that had is beyond me.

Oh.. why didnt they have the actual mother who was Samara's mom in the first The Ring - hate it when they change characters

and is Rory Culkin in it or is a different kid-- maybe he just looks a little more grown up ..???

Rory Culkin wasn't in either movie. It's the same actor, David Dorfman, just 3 years older. As for not having the same mother, who's to say?

just was this movie tonight... did not think it was "garbage" at all ... it was a little predictable but it was a fun and intense movie to go see! NOT GARBAGE! hate it how someone described like that...bugs me.

A little preditible? I was literally insulted by how pretentious this movie came off. It was saturated with sappy ass drama, devoid of anything remotely spooky, and had a few neat-o camera tricks.

you watch to many movies cinemaddiction... your expectations are way high! How can you have any fun watching movies anymore if you have seen the majority of them... sakhfd

Give me a ****ing break. The trailer gave away the whole movie! "She wants to be him" - Rachael That's the whole movie! When she says "Why don't you call me Mom? Mommy? Something other than Rachael?", that pretty much solidifies it.

Don't get bent out of shape, falling back on a misspelling to try and get me upset. The movie was shit, and I pray that you never check out what RottenTomatoes.com had to say about it.

MY expectations were for the movie to be as good as the original, which it failed miserably to fall up on. I enjoy plenty of movies, just not this one, and for good reason. Sorry I'm not as easily amused as some of you.

I don't plan on seeing it at the theaters after reading this thread.

Im not saying it was better than the first! or spectacular but I didnt think it was as bad as you made it out to be...the dear scene was intense...but just the same Im not sure what the importance of the piles of antlers had to do with anything

It seemed like they made a sequel just to make a sequel. The plot was weak and it seemed like the makers of the film just wanted to make a quick buck.

I don't "trash" movies, personally. "Ring Two", IMO as always, was incredibly poor and unnecessary. The majority of the movie going public looks to feel the same way.

I saw it today, it was...meh

the movie was just okay, was expecting more. and also some1 said that sissy spacek does not look like the mother in THE RING. isnt it true that the mother in THE RING is the 1 who adopted samara, and the character sissy spacek played was the blood mother of samara

Samara was adopted-- Sissy Spacek played Samara's biological mother

In fact it was kind of lame.

I like the story they were trying to get across, but I just don't think they did a good job with it.

^ I think c'dic is usually right were movies are concerned. Its a shame in this case because I haven't gotten round to seeing this yet, and I thought it looked promising.

lemme see if i got this right....the deer ****ed up their car becuz samara's dad killed a lot of deer and the deer sensed samara in the boy? ....anyone else think thats kind of lame?

I thought the concept was great, the result was quite good. It was on par with the original. When you think of what they had to work with, they did pretty good taking the story further.

I loved the deer thing. Most people thought it was uneccessary but it adds to the fact that Samara is unatural. Like with the horse sensed Samara's mark upon Rachael in the first one these deer could sense Samara within Aiden. You have to think deeply about it all for it to make sense, it's not like they stick up a diagram to show everything about Samara. You have to work it all out.

I liked it. The part where she crawled up the well made the movie, IMO. Without that it wouldn't have been so good in my mind. Without that scene in Samara's world it would've been a lot less. The cinematography was incredible, the birch trees and all the fog. It really made my eyes open wide.

Now, I absoluetely despised it. I realize that a lot banks on taste, but ti was the worst movie that i have seen in years. The slow pacing and incredibly elaborate plot took forever to pan out, to lackluster results.

It was like horror cliches popped into a blender and put on low.

I was hoping for the deer scene to end like the original's horse scene. That remained one device that wasn't identical to the originals'. The CGI in that scene was atrocious, though.

The ending....the crying...was so unecessary. They obviously develped a good plot, and had no logical way to end it, so they had the cute girl crying over the cliff. No shit she's gonna land. Her needing to jump off seemed like a bizarre stretch, anyways.

Oh, I almost forgot. "I am not your ****ing mother!" is not a line that anyone should applaud. In fact, that is when they should have shouted boo. But they did not, in my theatre. because they were all twelve. Last 7:00 friday show I will ever go to.

There was no need to take the story any furthur, and it really had no connection with the original. Last we saw, Samara was crawling out Martin Henderson's television, suggesting there is no end to her reign. Then it's right back to the killer video tape deal all over again? How convenient. To suggest anyone having to think deeply to get an all too obvious gimmick rehashed for a sequel is insulting.

Bland, uninspired, dramatic dreck that can't even touch the original, IMO.
