Graviton- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graviton_%28comics%29

According to one theory, Superman manipulates gravity around himself in order to perform stuff like resisting blackhole pull. So how would he fare against high level gravity manipulator?

TricksterPriest
He's in trouble. Graviton bitchslapped Thor and one of the stronger Avengers teams.

Charlotte DeBel
The only problem is that area of Graviton's power effect is limited, which makes it easier for Supes...but aside from that, the fight is going to be interesting.

graviton should win

It's not really that limited ... he's affected cities on the other side of the planet from him before.

Charlotte DeBel
In that case, Supes is in one hell of a trouble.

Scoobless, by the way, do you remember this stuff?

Depends...I've seen Graviton's powers before...but what is his greatest feat?

Not bad.

Supes wins though...even a rookie Superman has taken the gravity of a black hole before unhurt.

Charlotte DeBel
There was a theory that he creates a gravitational anomaly around himself to move FTL...so I wondered whether Graviton's powers can mess with it.
Superman has been affected by Redemption's gravity manipulations before, AFAIK.

Scoobless
Graviton's last couple of appearances have been extremely disappointing ... and completely unexplained (in his last Thunderbolts appearance he was sucked into a black hole .... or something)

Vaguely.

I've read the issue..thing is that they keep changing how Superman's powers work every couple of years/decades.

Standard Supes stomps him...however it would be more interesting against the original Superman..who was powered simply because of Krypton's higher gravity and simply leaped.

Here I was trying to explain to that dumbass Leonheartmm some stuff about Supes being able to TRAVEL on FTL speeds being not PIS...as well as trying to have some revenge on him for his shameful lies.

The theory about Superman creating gravitational "warp" anomaly around himself explains Supes FTL travelling speed feats just fine.

Supes.

Graviton has fallen off. Last time I saw him he was getting destroyed by Iron Man's heat blasts. Blasts which I doubt can compare to heat vision.

He's rearranged the surface of the planet to look like his face, IIRC.

This is probably a "Classic/Current" scenario. Classic Graviton was an Avengers villian....for the whole team. Thor, Tony, whoever the hell else was on the roster. Impressive stuff. Mjolnir's grab bag of tricks has stuff that could feasibly counter-act it, but chalk it up to dumbed-down power levels for the big guns when they're on teams. Still, it would be a good fight.

Current, apparently, would get owned.

...

Supes either way, in my mind. But if we take high-end feats, Grav's could take 1-2.

It's a shame for Thor that he has been shown as real "dumb blondie" countless times. Molnir can easily be the most versalite mystical weapon in Marvel...and yet Thor is often written simply smashing it into his enemies' heads.

Yeah his range is much, much bigger. See the time where he killed Moonstones friend who was in Australia(IRRC) while sitting down. He manipulated a rock all the way in China and controlled it towards her friends head.(He was in the US IRRC)

Supes should win, Graviton fights like an idiot. Now if only Superman could shapeshift into a women, that in itself would probably stop him.

I thought his latest appearance was in the New IronMan series?

By the way, does anyone else think that Emma Frost amalgamated with Manchester Black would be one hell of a character?
