How come Luke never had to have that crappy haircut?

He was a padawan but he never had their goofy haircut with the buzzed head and pony tail
queeq
Guess OB1 didn't see the point. Who'd care?
steverules_2
I didn't have much to talk about here anymore so I decided this would be sufficient
JediRobin23
They had 1970's haircuts
steverules_2
And they had 20th/21st century hair cuts in episode 1-3?
Zoom
It was the best he could afford. Uncle Owen didn't pay him much!
steverules_2
Surely he could have done it himself with a lightsabre and I'm sure the princess could get him a hair cut
Hybris
Would have been a bit conspicuous with the entire empire looking out for jedi...
steverules_2
Wasn't exactly a secret that Luke Skywalker was being trained
Sith Master X
If you and your friends were the only people left on Earth and you had cars, you're not going to do the speed limit right?
That Jedi pretty much didn't exist anymore. There was no more structure really, Luke just learned the ways of a Jedi and eventually became one, even though the few that were left were pretty much hiding.
steverules_2
Yeah but the Jedi felt pretty strong about the ways of the jedi and training...sure I'd go over the speed limit but thats not like a religion, the jedi ways and so on were like an origin
queeq
If you're the only padawan in the universe, why make a point of your hair? Everyone that needs to know... you know!
steverules_2
Its still something the jedi have to do though, I think they were a little easy on Luke

Maybe they realized if everything they did the first time was unquestionably right, they wouldn't have put themselves in the position of being nearly extinct. So I think Yoda let the haircut go.
steverules_2
The haircut wouldn't have effected luke though, he woulda been fine with it

Fundamentalist!
steverules_2
I feel like they were a lot harder on Anakin
queeq
But Anakin was a whiny brat.
steverules_2
But he was the chosen one, maybe if Mace had been a little nice he wouldn't have his arm chopped off and then electrocuted out of a window
queeq
That's asking a lot.
steverules_2
Seemed Obi-Wan was the only one who could truly put up with him, he had to put up with luke as well...poor obi-wan, he got screwed on padawans
sweersa
The Jedi order at that point was pretty unorganized. Proper hair and tunics were the last things on their mind. Remember the fuss they had about how old 9 year old Anakin was to be trained? Well Luke was in his mid 20s at the time...
queeq
At the time of ANH there was NO Jedi order.
steverules_2
Cause there weren't many Jedi?
steverules_2
Was that a fact?

True, but I am sure there were many more Jedi in hiding or that have changed occupations that were still alive. (Not that that makes it an order, which is doesn't)
queeq
No, plus there is no evidence that points to the existing of other Jedi.

Well if they were hiding there would be no evidence. We can only guess as to how many remained, I just don't see how the Empire could have tracked down and killed ALL of them.
steverules_2
The dark side is clouded in mystery
queeq
Vader can do anything...

He doesn't seem to be doing too well at this
queeq
How do you know? Do you have any idea what he is doing?
queeq
It's obvious, is it not?
steverules_2
He's trying to fail at putting water into that bottle, and clearly doing very well at it
queeq
Of course not.... that wouldn't make any sense.
steverules_2
Ok so explain to me what he's doing
queeq
It's obvious, isn't it?
steverules_2
Not really, I wouldn't be asking I knew
steverules_2
Why does that not surprise me
queeq
I dunno, you tell me.
steverules_2
What if I choose not to?
steverules_2
Ok thats good
queeq
I'll be the judge of that.
steverules_2
I think my avatar has power over you and thus my avatar is the judge
queeq
Actually.... you are right.
steverules_2
I thought so
queeq
Of course you do, that is why you never change it. You know the power of that avatar...
steverules_2
Just like a jedi uses the force or like Indy uses his whip
queeq
The avatar is more powerful than that.
steverules_2
Yes it is, but it's used in the same way
queeq
You use your women like a whip????

What?
He's using the force to pull the water out of the jug, and back into the Brita container. Obvious.
Some disciplines have 'snatch the insect from my hand'; Sith exercises are a bit more...eccentric.
steverules_2
Mr. Miyagi had catch the fly with the chop sticks
queeq
Which is peanuts for a Jedi.
steverules_2
I like peanuts
steverules_2
You get me some
steverules_2
Guess I'll go buy some then...with my mothers money biscuits Choklit peanuts
steverules_2
Cheap tastes like choklit peanuts right now
steverules_2
I love how these threads eventually go off topic
queeq
That's only from your point of view.
steverules_2
It's a lovely point of view though
queeq
From your point of view.
steverules_2
Well what about your point of view?
steverules_2
...got any choklit peanuts?
InfernoJG95
I have peanuts
