Take a look at some of Batman's friends and then tell me you wouldn't feel safer knowing someone has a contingency plan to deal with them in case they're compromised.

The same could be said for lots of heroes in comics like Wolverine.

realistically it was tyranny at its worse especially since it was done in the united states... Doom is different since he has his own country and laws which he is not in violation of.
