Who takes it?

No specifications, huh.
Does Dante have his bare fists? Or all weapons & abilities?
Does Kratos have his bare fists? Or all weapons & abilities?

Are they searching for an object to take? Or is this an actual fight?

Well DMC3 Dante was Dante at his youngest in the series.

Probably has to do with age, and experience. DMC3 Dante is supposed to be 19, and he has just unlocked his true powers.

DMC3 Dante is the weakest of all the versions of him as he has barely unlocked his the full extent of his abilities and he's much more inexperienced than the other versions too.

now I don't know if this is meant to be fight or some kind of treasure hunt or something, but if it's a fight then Dante is screwed. if it's to find something then Dante could win given his speed and agility. Kratos is quite fast, but not as fast as him.

As in Kratos and Dante will be entering one on one combat against eachother.

Why are people assuming it is anything other than a FIGHT?

Toothpick fish aren't urban legends though I'm sure they did exaggerate them a bit. Still, I'm not taking a piss near the Amazon rivers (not that I would do that near any river anyway).
