Hm, I'd put Blackbolt above Superman/Surfer, and I'd put Superman above Surfer, he's got more HtH focus and a reasonable amount of training (Supergirl has some Amazon training, but not as much experience).

I'd say Wonder Woman is the most skilled Herald that I know of, but she isn't on this list. Of the list I'd say Thor or Herc with Ares and Superman close behind.

It's about skill. Based on feats I think Thor is more skilled than Herc, I'm not saying there's much difference. Also I think Supes shows more skills than any of the guys in this thread based on feats.

And Herc showed he had more hth skill by beating Thor in hth.

If I saw the fight, and there was demonstrated superiority in skills I'd be willing to swap them in my rankings. If it was simply a typical brawl, I'll stick to my list. Afterall, they're on the same level, and each can get a victory over the other in a brawl.

Thor even said Herc was better in hth.

It's in one of their respect threads, I don't feel like looking for it.

Hey, it takes great skill to do a Batkick or a kick on the balls properly. Not many characters have this skill.

Herc is the most skilled herald by far when he chooses to be, he recently showed us he can match the likes of electre and gorgon in skill

I think the most skilled heralds are Orion/Thor/Wonder Woman/Hercules. Wonder Woman uses her skill most often, and is probably the most martial artist like character.

For the record, I don't think Hercules is noticeably if any more skilled than those other 3 characters. His mortal now, so his skills will get more play but same would go for someone like Thor.

However, in Ares defense, he also beat down Abomb. The character does have skills.

Someone like Mantis or Val Armorr should top any list..

H2h against them won't cut it.

I have a slightly different take on, but I wouldn't lay my hands into fire for this opinion, since I could be wrong.

From best to worst:

- Ares is war himself and he was able to fight against Hercules and Thor because of his skill in the first place (but I could be wrong, since it should also be clear, that that Herc and Thor were holding back on Ares, because of the powerlevel difference)

- Hercules is all about strenght and H2H and he managed to defeat Thor in H2H combat. THor also acknowledged it, while he was not able to break free from Herc's grip.

- Thor with his centuries of fighting experience would probably know how to take down enemies effectivly aswell.

- But now it starts getting tricky. While the upper three characters are experienced wariors, they're also mostly brawlers, who don't really have the finesse of nowdays martial artists - at least in my opinion, so you could basically say that Superman could be standing above them, since he knows about pressure points and learned about take downs and fighting styles. I'm not sure if I saw the Gods using something like that before, so Superman could be even more skilled then them, because they're brawlers, while he COULD be able to take out his enemies via martial arts, but since he also mostly brawls, he is under them.

- Supergirl, since he was tried by Amazons for quite a while, so she should too know few things about fighting effectivly.

- Black Bolt, since I remember him being fairly okay'ish in H2H, since he needed ways to defeat his enemies without using his voice.

- Skaar is a brawler, who maybe knows few tricks but in the long run, it won't be enough in this battle.

- And the worst of them would probably be the Silver Surfer in my opinion. I can't remember seeing him actually using any great H2H abilities. He does not have a background as a warrior and after that he also had far too many powerful abilities, to actually rely on H2H.

I don't know where Ares stands but besides him I say,

Hercules overall (combination of striking and wrestling)
but Thor as far as striking.

But characters at their best then Clark wins (CA feats and pressure point feats).
