It is between Shin Gouki, Gouken, Oro, Gill, and Shin M. Bison in terms of most powerful, as long as we all accept that Ingrid is a Mary Sue piece of shit who should not, nay, does not exist. It is unclear who is top of those five, but in my personal opinion, Gouki, Gouken, and prolly Oro of the five are strongest.

Gouki, Cammy, Chun-Li, Sagat, Dudley, Balrog those are some of my favorites.

Zangief.

Another that's fairly up there is healthy Gen.

The top two are probably Shin Gouki and Oro IMO.

Gouki defeated and "killed" Gouken before the series. Though Gouken has gotten stronger with the Power of Nothingness.

He does fight Gouki, though, which is pretty much all Gouken has going for him too.

Gouken and Gouki were fighting in a volcano and in the manga they leveled a mountain range with their Hadoukens.

Gouken is also the only person who Gouki would go Shin for, him and prolly Oro.

In the Udon comic, full strength pre-cancer Gen beat a younger Gouki who hadn't mastered his style yet. They meet again later and lament the situations have reversed, and how grand it would've been for them to face each other at full.

Man, there has been like, one person the Shun Goku Satsu has actually permanently killed. Surviving it is no big deal anymore. And it was not due to power that he survived it, but due to mental clarity, emptying your mind ftw.

Younger Gouki who did not master style yet. Current Gouki can sink islands with punches, kick sunken ships in half while on the bottom of the ocean, fight in volcanos, split Ayers Rock, and can with what is essentially a power-up vape a forest and send a beam into space. The difference between "Young Gouki who has not mastered his style" and current is astronomical.

^ Plus Gouken apparently beat SF4 Gouki, as Ryu isn't taken by Gouki.

Sakura, her potential is said to be greater than Ryu's the main character and because she's the most popular street fighter female next to Cammy and Chun Li. She will eventually surpass Ryu in the future.

While she's iirc been said to be stronger than Ryu was at her age, it'll still be a decade or so in-plot before she's going to be a major contender IMO.

Gouki and Gouken are roughly equal, and Oro probably is that level too. Those are the top three.

Then it is between Gill and Shin Bison from Alpha 3. I am unsure which one is stronger than which.

Oh, and Ryu has NEVER beaten Bison one on one, in Alpha 3 he was fighting teams of people at once and beating them. He was also killed by Gouki in SF2, not Ryu. IIRC his only victory against Sagat was after a cheap shot when he channeled the Satsui no Hadou after Sagat beat him, though they are rivals, probably being equals. He beat Seth, but who the hell cares? Seth is weak.

The level of power between the God Tiers and top tiers is pretty huge.

And let's not forget the other difference being the timeframes in which both characters showed these things. Ryu was at his presumed peak training under Oro in SFIII (the farthest in the chronology), whereas Akuma destroyed that island during the SF Alpha days, and had only gotten stronger since by SFIII. That just says even more for the difference in power between them.

Does Ryu have any other feats besides the boulder lift we all know about and as shown in his SSFIV ending, can blast a hadouken clear through a water fall (Could only make it half way through in SFIV)?

And that was a young, weaker and inexperienced Ryu. Alpha 3 Bison took TEAMS of people to beat, the entire dolls, Sagat, Ken, Chun-Li, Ryu, Rose, lots of fighting one after the other. And IIRC it was Charlie who killed him, not Ryu.

Yea. The official order was something like- Fought Ryu, Ken, and Sakura at the same time, then all the Dolls (including Cammy) and almost killed them, then just Rose and beat her, then Guile and Charlie with Charlie sacrificing himself to win. I think Chun-li helped blow up the base but didn't actually fight him, or maybe helped in one of the earlier group fights.

He was crazy powerful in that body.

jaxx pretty much ended the thread with his first post, gouken is the only x-factor cause his history is a little new.

oro (unsealed) is def shin gouki level, maybe even more since he said he hasn't trained in 50 years, but his ki was strong enough for gouki to feel it from japan (oro was in brazil)

Ryu did not beat cody, Evil Ryu beat cody, cause cody was beating the tar outta normal ryu, so ryu had to release evil energy also known as evil ryu. Also that information is considered non-canon, basically meaning capcom said it didnt happen.

also, if what i told was correct cody had ryu down and while cody offered him a hand evil ryu sucker punched him with a shoryuken

Well if we are going by the games Evil Ryu is the most powerful.He alone defeated Bison and Shin Akuma and declared himself supreme master of the fist. (Alpha 3 ending)

In the comics Bison with his Psycho Drive was unstoppable. Rose,Guile,Cammy,THawk,Chun Li,Charlie,none could stop him.
When Fighting Akuma none of Akuma's attack did damage.

I have to say Bison is the most powerful character.He is sure written to be the most powerful because of the way his abilities work. His absorbing negative energies to make himself stronger. Who else has an ability to make themselves stronger?

Top 5 most powerful are Bison,Akuma,Gouken,Gill,Oro.

Favorite characters are Bison,Ryu/Evil Ryu,Akuma,Vega.

It's only a matter of time when Ryu surpasses all.

Ingrid is a Street Fighter character and yes, Ryu has surpassed Alpha 3 Bison.

Damn. If the top 5 were to be expanded, where would Juri Han fall under? She seem very powerful and is the rival of bison.
