The Bothersome Man
Mr Nobody
Pandorum
Exam
The Big Empty
Cargo

and if never seen Dark City watch that its brilliant film

MildPossession
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is hardly a lesser known film, in top 10 film charts in a lot of countries.

Apart from that, decent list.

GreetingsFriend
Christopher Nolan's Following.

That is all.

roll eyes (sarcastic)

I cant remember much about this film. I know it was set in a post apocalyptic era. Desert type setting, at least in the opening scenes.
I recall the film starting out in a lab or hospital of some kind. The doctors are putting bar codes(?) on the new Born babies & implanting micro chips in them?
The plot of the movie is when your born, you have a value set to your life. You work & you earn life credits. If you buy stuff ie (food, clothing, ect.) you get scanned & that is taken off of your life... so there is No cash or credit cards, just your life. One early scene a women is buying food at a small store and one of her children knocks over a jar and it goes everywhere. Well she was poor and had to pay for it and im not sure if she could and still buy food for her family?
I recall after that a rich women goes to that small poor town. and She buys the little boy from that same poor women in the store. The boy had a sister but the lady only took the boy. Anyway... fast forward 10-15 years & the Boy is now a man. He runs a business or casino for the rich lady..? The sister he once knew as a boy, comes back into his life... Maybe she is a waitress in the casino?? She is a mess... I think she is gambling in one scene (slots) & she doesn't win.. so this means shes going to die. The brother tries to save her, by adding money to her life...? Not sure the rest of the movie.
Sorry I saw the movie a long time ago. Would really like to see it again, if anyone can help?
ps. Im sure it was a 80's USA up all night movie or something they would play. I saw that movie around the same time I saw "SOLARBABIES" & "MY SCIENCE PROJECT" if that helps? Im sure on the same station about 15-20 years ago. I was pretty young.

Thanks again for the Help, Ive been looking for this movie since I saw it. I was like 8 years old and dont remember the name, if I even knew it then.

Maybe because I read some reviews before watching it that overrated the crap outta it.

I'll throw Eden Log out there. Great soundtrack too.

MildPossession
The Crew was nothing special. Eden Log though, great recommendation.

You should look back on some of the scenes in Dead Man's Shoes after you have the ending to give them their context. I think particularly the scene when Richard and Anthony are sitting back to back speaking about the sports day...Knowing that the entire conversation is all in Richard's head because Anthony isn't really there and the look of regret on Richard's face...For me it's one of the most well acted and touching scenes in any film I've ever seen.

Esau Cairn
Things To Do When You're Dead In Denver.

Came out in '95.
Fantastic cast; Andy Garcia, Christopher Walken, Christopher Lloyd, William Forsythe, Treat Williams, Bill Nunn, Steve Buscemi, Fairuza Balk...

From memory, there's a hilarious scene with Treat Williams where he breaks down crying telling how he was forced to eat a nugget of shit in prison to prove himself...the thing was he kinda got a taste for it afterwards!

I Agree! Its a great movie.
I also liked Dear Wendy. Thanks for that recommendation. but the ending felt rushed. Not a good trasition of events. Everything was fine, to out of control in .5seconds.
No matter, you have good taste. I look forward to your other recommendations.

Have you seen the Movie "GO" ? Its pretty good.

elfirrepins
Taken (Pretty cliche, but entertaining)
Crooked Earth (Mostly English, some Maori, complex but simple story)
K20 - Legend Of The Mask (Japanese superhero movie, nicely balanced)
Howl's Moving Castle (children's movie... awesome drawn animation)
Blood In, Blood Out (great English/Spanish movie, kinda gangster)

Umm... That's all I got at the moment.

Esau Cairn
The Way Of The Gun.
Starring Ryan Phillippe, Benicio Del Torro & Juliette Lewis.

Strong cast & some great gun fights.
I really enjoyed the bond between Phillippe's & Del Toro's characters.
Both drifter criminals with a "nothing to lose" attitude. Through out the film, both characters hardly say a word to eachother but both know to trust what the other's thinking.

Rogue Jedi
Agreed. Great flick.

Have you seen "3000 Miles to Graceland" or "GO" ? Also pretty good movies.

I just watched the film "RUBBER" im still not sure what I think about it. But I will say this. It is the most "original" Movie I have ever seen! Maybe thats what they were going for?

Found one.

Would've be paying 18 quid for it though.

Dr Mystery
If you like Dead Man's Shoes you should watch A Room For Romeo Brass. Not quite as gripping as Deads Man's Shoes but a very funny, disturbing and realistic film with another brilliant performance from Paddy Considine.

Also:

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane.
Session 9.
Edges of Darkness. ( Not great but imaginative ).
Bubba Ho-Tep.
Trick R Treat.
Splinter.
Death Race 2000.
Salute of The Jugger.
Judgement Night.
G.I. Joe The Animated Movie. ( Awesome,just awesome ).
The 13th Warrior.

True...Considine is on top form in it.

I have all Meadow's films now and while there's a couple I wasn't keen on (Somers Town being my least favourite) he's still my favourite low budget director.

This is England 86 (tv series) showed how the extremes of every emotion can be packed into a short period of screen time...And while everyone was going nuts for The Inbetweeners at the time TIS86 was far superior but was generally overlooked.

Can't wait for the 88 Christmas special and TIS90 as well.

Suicide Kings was a great film.
I loved how Walken stole the film & yet he spent most of it tied to a chair!
