Bladewind
The Information Brokers
In the giant "Metropolis", the last city existing on earth, politics have become more violent than ever. Many different politicians try to gain control of Metropolis and only few resort to words to gain control. Assassinations are everyday, assassins can be found for even the most difficult kills. But a new politician has entered the stage. "Prolocutor" as he calls himself seeks to use no violence at all. That's something unheard of in Metropolis for, well since it's founding. But he knows that he can't win fairly. But he won't betray his little promise.
This is where the players come in. They are information brokers, hired by Prolocutor to blackmail and trick the opposition. There is only one rule: no violence.
Metropolis: Imagine Coruscant from SW. The upper levels are for the rich and the ground is crawling with criminals trying to make it upwards even a few inches.
Metrpolis' Citizens: The criminal underworld is big. In the lower levels pretty much everyone is criminal and gangs rule. But in the upper levels criminals are less obvious although people are just as corrupt. You ask why they aren't as open about their crimes? The AI simply known as the Watcher has a whole army of robots under it's control to keep scum from illegaly making their way upwards and keeping order in the skies. That is why blackmail is so useful, once somebody's crimes are revealed they might as well take a leap from their skyscrapers.
Player Chars: I'm working on a CS but here's roundabout info. There will be all kinds of informats. Computer wizzes, undercover spies etc. But there'll also be men and women of action Sabotage Specialists, bodyguards etc.
The way it will be played: the players will choose one of the many roles that they can fill (working on a list). This RP will be more focused on teamwork and character development than fast-paced action. I like to dose explosions and the like very carefully to make sure that they improve the tension instead of turning this thing into some rambo RP where people just leap from one boom to another one. Depending on the role (I'm working on a system that will keep everybody working together without limiting choice of designation) the experience will defer quite a bit.
I will just say that I'm undercover as a securityguard while starry is the computer wizz and MadMel is a saboteur armed with an explosive. In this case starry is the "narrator" because she has hacked the security cams. She'll inform me and MadMel on dangers. My job is then to distract other, real, security men from whatever MadMel is doing while he sneaks around and avoids everybody. Get what I mean?
CS:
Name:
Gender:
Age:
Appearance:
Area: (Information Collector, Blackmailer, Saboteur)
Specialization: Hacker (IC/S), Undercover Agent (IC/B/S), Explosives Expert (S), Spy (IC), Graffiti Artist (B/S), Messenger (IC/B/S), Bodyguard (Special Class)
The Areas are your general "education" so you can do anything from your chosen area. Specializations are where you excel (a specialized hacker acting as an undercover agent will be detected faster than a specialized undercover agent).
