Badass. Hopefully it includes a lot of free swinging mechanics. That 4-alternate-timeline Spidey game apparently fell on its ass for being too linear and not enough like Spidey in New York.

I wouldn't hold your breath; judging by that video and the write-up IGN posted recently, the mechanics are going to be very similar to Shattered Dimensions.

SD was entertaining, but the 2099 bits were my least favorite bits. Hopefully Beenox is able to tighten the gameplay this time around.

So it's just another time traveling/dimension hopping game? Basically SD part 2?

When are we going to get another good old fashioned 616 Spidey game, based in New York, filled with a ton of his rogues gallery villains, with Osborn or Ock as the mastermind? Is that too much to ask for?

I suggest you get Spider-man for the PS1 or N64, Ock was the mastermind in that and it was the best spiderman game

I remember it doing pretty well and being liked by most people who played it

Still want to play WoS. At least that was more of a classic Spidey formula. Spider-Man 2 had the best swing mechanics though, and I've seen reviewers independently reach the same conclusion. Just swinging around the city brought me back to that game long after I had completed anything relevant to the story.

I played for a bit at a friend's, didn't enjoy it. Also didn't see a single positive review.

Played it many times. I'm talking about a next gen game Spidey game that's just simply based off the 616 comics like the PSX games were. I wish there was a Spectacular Spider-man game.

Game informer gave it an 8.5, Ign gave it an 8. Gamspot gave it a 7.5 (which means they didn't think it was a bad game)

Those are three of the biggest ones and pretty positive.

The idea for this name game reminds me of this story
