Judge Dredd is a pretty ridiculous concept. Gun crazy, draconian law loving judges popping up in the country that doesn't even let homeowners defend their homes with lethal force?
The US would make more sense as a setting, 'cause we're leaning in that direction already.

I never considered Dredd as being gun crazy. His guns are just tools to him. He couldn't care less imo.

I've read one or two comics, and it seemed like an English/British/UK setting...
They were pretty bizarre comics, too. This one had Dredd banishing Willy Wonka into space forever because his chocolate was so delicious, even the analyzing computer became addicted it..

haha, cool stuff.
2000 AD comics are actually quite good if you ever decide to give them a try. It's not unlike the old collection mags that they sold in France, I find them quite neat.
