I can't really think of a version of Brainiac that would struggle with Luther..

Lex already broke brainiac's neck in Action 899. Lex ftw.

Depends on the writer. Brainiac has accomplished more, but that wasmostly before superman, while luthor has had to deal with sups from his beginning. Toss up.

Lex had Brainiac 2.5 helping him out. Generally, when Brainiac and Lex are in the same story, Lex is the underdog. Even Milton Fine made him a prisoner and controlled Lexcorp.

Sans any sort of one-sided prep, Brainy is WELL above Lex in general.

You would kinda have to give Lex his ring to make this more even.

You just forgot that brainiac made that lois robot to spy on lex everytime, lex used that to study brainiac's tech. He also outsmarted brainiac in Last stand of new krypton. Lex is every bit a match for brainiac especially after Infinite crisis.

The robotic Lois served one purpose- and that was introducing nanites into Luthor's bloodstream. That was the only 'studying' of Luthor Brainy did. Luthor, on the other hand, had been studying all of Brainy's systems/tactics for months beforehand. So in that sense, the prep was quite one-sided in Luthor's favor.

At any rate, both of these fellas have lower showings, but imo, Brainy is generally portrayed as > Luthor. Brainy managed to get the better of Vril and Lyrl Dox (and when they were working together, no less.) Hard to imagine Luthor doing that. /shrug
