Light or darkness?

Darkness wins.

JakeTheBank
Darkness at his most powerful is High Herald or above?

Q99
Nope, and considering a ring actually makes light, this is a flat-out stomp.

Jackie stands no chance. He can't even do the 'attack internally' thing while Hal has his ring aura on (it was noted not to work on one statue that had lights showing on the outside. Not that it's super-easy to do on living things to begin with, he mostly does it against immobile foes).

Please, people, stop putting The Darkness against Heralds smile He is not on that level of power, and a GL is one of the worst possible opponents for him. Even a random GL'll win, let alone Hal.

JakeTheBank
I was gonna say that nothing I've ever read lead me to believe he could take on a GL and not get wasted.

Jackie was under a light that equaled 4 suns while doing that.

The Darkness.

Jackie was under a light that equaled 4 suns while doing that.

Later on he does have problem with one statue with lights on it, in the Fort Knox story.

And I'll also note that he's only used internal attack against a human once, and it wasn't even the slice-up thing like that. It was a guy standing around in darkness.

It's somewhat inconsistent on the limits of the move, but in general? Hal's going to be quite safe from that.

And there's definitely nothing else Jackie can do to Hal, his constructs aren't strong enough.

Not *quite*. That's the Angelus with power stored for literally centuries. It didn't happen as a result of a throw down, mind you, and no Artifact could do that on purpose.

"Id"
The Angelus forged a blade from a star/sun. Jackie is on a mission to use that blade, in efforts to perm kill the Darkness Entity with it.

And IRRC, unchecked the Darkness can swallow all of reality.

Yea, there is 'cosmic darkness' from basically a what-if story.

If we're talking that, it could win. A lot different than hosted Darkness.

Lord Feron
That "Darkness Inside" Is pretty sweet. (Also a lil cheap since light suppose to be his weakness but w/e)

Well, like I said, it's not exactly consistent on pulling it off.

He does manage it against the Sovereign there pretty often, but Sovereign did manage to protect one of his statues from that with light later in the story.

And he never uses it against resisting, mobile living (not human, not demon) foes in combat.

Apparently as crazy as it sounds, those stories are within continuity. It was listed as part of the Darkness Bio in the Top Cow website.

Hal wins. I don't think people realize/remember how powerful 'classic' Lanterns were.... Let alone 'classic' Hal.

Even if we are assuming Jackie can destroy planets under his own power (which is inaccurate, imo), it still won't nearly be enough. Just to emphasize how uber classic Lanterns were: in the classic days, a rookie John Stewart tanked a blast that destroyed FAR more than a single planet:

(veteran classic Hal>>rookie classic John.)

....With that in mind, I can't imagine Jackie being able to harm Hal in the slightest. I like Jackie, but he's simply out of his league here.

But it's still not something any hosted Darkness can do, it's a possible future where the Darkness is effectively unchecked.
