Wreck-It Ralph is a new Disney movie scheduled to be released in November of this year.

From the way it reads, it's like a mix between Toy Story and Who Framed Roger Rabbit; it features the lives of characters (video game characters in this case, instead of toys) from a world we thought we knew and it features cameos of many well-known characters already familiar to the world (like Bowser from Mario, Dr. Wily from Mega Man, Zangief from Street Fighter and even Kano from Mortal Kombat):

Seems like an interesting movie, especially for people who play video games.

I forgot to point out that Toy Story also features many well-known products (like Mr. Potato Head, Barbi and Ken, Bucket O' Soldiers, etc.) so I guess they all got that in common.

One of the more interesting leads for last few several weeks of the season will be Wreck-It-Ralph, the Disney toon that, according to beginning discussion, comes near to being Toy Tale for video games.

The promotion for the movie is about to phase up level, beginning with this first taster poster. Here's Rob himself, as verbal by Bob C. Reilly, and designed out of... 1... 2... 4... 6...12...14... 16... acch. I missing depend. Well, not many p.

This is still unprecedented stuff for a disney movie let alone any movie. Just the fact that its the characters theyre using and not some knockoffs(like i thought they would) lets you know what kind of copyright hoops disney had to jump through to make this happen. Just seeing bowser, bison, zangief, and kano in that talk session should guarantee any gamer's ticket purchase.

Was Zangief really a bad guy?

Nah..... Balrog, Vega, Sagat, the dolls, sometimes Cammy all worked for Bison. Sometimes on occasion the heroes got brainwashed as well.

But Zangief was a free agent. Not the terrorist type. He fought for Mother Russia not Shadaloo/Shadowlaw.

Well the scene did show more than one SF character so it's a possibility more than one MK character was shown as well.

Why do I get the feeling the person who's making this movie was inspired by Comic Jumper? mmm

Dunno. Cold War ended in 91 and SFII came out then too. But Zangief wasn't a soldier. He was simply a wrestler who fought bears in the wilderness. Sure if you finished the game with him Yeltzen gave him a pat on the back but nothing came from it besides national pride.

I say he's neutral. But he definitely wasn't a member of Shadowlaw.

Smoke isn't really a villain though (unless being part of the Lin Kuei somehow automatically makes him one), but I guess the same can be said for Zangief.

This needs to come out NOW!

I heard about this movie but didn't watch the trailer when it first hit the net. Didn't even know the plot. But I just got back from seeing Disney/PIXAR's 'Brave' and it was one of the trailers beforehand. I nearly collapsed with laughter at all the cameos; my 1980's teenage video game playing years rushed right back! Sarah Silverman is the cherry on top!

I only just noticed who that pink rhino is a while back, He's from Altered Beast.

Looks like the "Who framed Roger Rabbit" of video games... In other words, AWESOME!

looks like its the Konami code.

"Wreck It Ralph" has been pretty hush-hush with the plot, but it seems that The Cy-Bugs from "Hero's Duty" are released into the Arcade and Ralph somehow wins by guiding them out with bright lights. I think that those villains are a great contrast for the story, being very opposite from villains like Bison and such.
