Only 784 pages?
That's not enough!
I mean, she's ending the entire series with only 784 stinkin' pages!
That would be the shortest book I've ever read!

Oh well.
I'm just dissapointed because J.K Rowling said that she was gonna make it as big as an encyclopedia.
Oh well.... I just hope she doesn't kill Harry or she's gonna get a lot of hate mail.

Especially from me!laughing
Lol

The Phantom
Shortest book you've ever read? You didn't read 1-4 and 6?

melane
Maybe she just watched the movies.

wow, i agree, i hate when there are fans who know
NOTHING about the series. It makes me get in the "wtf" mood

siriuswriter
Well, she's also said this one is her favorite, so....

that's rather exciting.

melane
I can't wait till it comes out.
She writes books fast!

The UK version is 636 pages, I believe. But much smaller font.

The US version is using an even bigger font...

yay In retrospect, this should actually be quite the fulfilling book. It's not like in OoTP where she had to create subplot after subplot, and what not. This is 784 pages dedicated to climax. 784 pages of Harry finding the Horcrux's and attempting to destroy Voldemort. The Longest Climax we've had in Harry Potter was less than 100 pages, and that was in OoTP. This is going to the longest book in Harry Potter (metaphorically speaking) and I find it moderately exciting.

melane
I'll just say..I wish it came out sooner!I'm too impatientcry!

siriuswriter
Although they're now debating whether or not this is actually the second longest book, or whether Bloomsbury is using smaller type this time in he UK edition *which will have 608 pages*.

Meh. As long as the book comes out, I'm happy.

I read them.
You've misunderstood.
I meant that would be the shortest book I have EVER read.

As in other books besides Harry Potter.

And pretty offensive.
I mean you know nothing about me and or how I know anything about Harry Potter, and you "severely" hate me.
That's kinda harsh. sad
I didn't mean to offend anyone by that comment.
I was just saying that I read a lot of books and Deathly Hallows will be one of the shortest books I have EVER read.
Sorry if I offended anyone in anyway, but there was no need for such a harsh comment. sad

melane
I am sure none of you guys meant anything.
Nickey,What they mean is that you said"jk will get a lot of hate mails if she kills Harry, especially from me"
Thats why they said they hate "fans" like that .I mean I'm sure you wont send hate mail but..

Sorry if I offened you in anyway! big grin You really do worry too much about offending others. And really, I didn't know you meant it like that. Try specifying. And trust me, there i no way that will be the shortest book you EVER read still.

I'm a weird girl, I read a lot of books.
I mean a lot.

In my eyes, there are three types of books
I'll show you

Level Chart

Pages
Level 1- 1 to 300
Level 2- 1 to 700
Level 3- 1 to 1000 and over

See I told you I'm weird.
Don't agree with me. laughing

Oh yeah. The reason I worry about offending people is because for some reason, whatever I say offends people. I remember when I came to this website for the first time. Everything I said was offensive, or just horrible. So I decided whenever I say something, I'll apologize before time if I offended anyone with my opinion. Sorry if it bothers you guys. embarrasment

It's an easy 4-5 hour read nonstop big grin

Doing that ruins the experience though.

I did that with HBP, and came away with less than half the details.

Ditto. I read H.B.P. in one day, although not entirely continuously, and the next day I couldn't remember half the twists and turns.

I can't wait for D.H. to be released - it just so happens that the release coincides with my birthday!

i got it at midnight, stayed up all night reading it

next day, i read it again

and then i reread the whole series

thats how i usually do it, i cant stand reading slow on purpose, it kills me

[Walkah]
I'm not a huge fan of Harry Potter, don't get me wrong they're good books, but I'm just not totally devoted like some of the other fans. The problem is that the release of this book is freaking killing me when I think about it.
