Yeah it looks like they've totally removed the mars side of things from the story.

Better than being a shot to shot remake like psycho I s'pose but still

I recall seeing a trailer...for the trailer...on youtube, which is something I've never seen or heard of before, a trailer for a trailer

Should've left mars in since that was also in the Philip K Dick Story.

So they took out an important aspect of the story, perfect

Then again i'm only going by what i can find on the net about the story

Be interesting to see what they do with this then

Looks like a mishmash of the original story with The Bourne Identity.

Trailer didn't impress me much.

As said above, very Bourne Identity, but in the future and with two hot chicks.

Looks enjoyable enough to watch in the theater so far.

I was mearly showing this is what a lot of people put on youtube when a trailer or something realated to a movie is posted.

the biggest problem people seem to have with this movie (that they haven't even seen) is that there wont be a broad with 3 titties. jr_erm01

There's some hot babes in the movie. I'm watching it when it comes out.

I still like the one with Arnie for what it is too but not dissing this new attempt.

I dont know, it might be worth the 90mins of my time.

Seeing Colin Farrel in the remake of Fright Night & now in the remake of Total Recall kinda leaves a negative impression on me.

How so?

I dunno really...it's like Farrel's the fall back guy for remakes.

Not like one of the remake he's been in hasn't been terrible.

Hasn't been a stretch of acting abilities either.

Fright Night remake was okay, imo.

I like David Tennant in that

Malcolm McDowell is another one to be in remakes with Halloween and now i hear 'Silent Night, Deadly Night'.

Just saw the trailer for this. Yeah the action and special effects look great.. But am I the only one who doesn't like that it's an Exact remake??

As in story/scenes/dialogue, everything from the looks of it is exactly the same.

The story is very different.

They've updated stuff. But the dialogue and story "seemed" exactly the same, to the point where I knew what was coming next. E.g He goes home to his girlfriend I obviously knew she was going to try and kill him.

The psychiatrist telling him to kill himself. Almost everything.

But I suppose that's the difference between a Reboot and a Remake.

And there's something about Len Wiseman's over-the-top action that worked well for the Underworld films, but for things that are supposed to be a bit more grounded I have trouble accepting it. I had a similar problem with his Die Hard film. I guess there's something about this story that calls for that, seeing as the original is pretty over-the-top as well, but I'm not really diggin' it. Maybe it'll work okay when it plays out... i hope.

Yeah, seems to have everything from the original overall, though I'm guessing that his girl won't try and kill him off. I'm not expecting a Batman quality remake here, but we'll see. No way it will be as big of a disappointment as Lockdown.

Wasn't very good, found myself bored many a moment. Both chicks were nice eye-candy and they alluded to it being a fantasy more so than reality, imo.

Yeah, just from the way it looks on the trailer and the poor reviews it's gotten, i'm definitely not gonna spend full price on this.

I'll be honest, I just saw it and I loved it. Absolutely. I'm not sure why some people are so annoyed/bored with it, considering it's a solid action film with incredible sci-fi dystopian elements. The atmosphere was utterly amazing. I too saw the reviews and the nay-saying, but I went anyways. And it was worth the time and money.

Need MOAR opinions.

I don't typically go for re-makes but I do want to see this. IDK I just think it looks sweet! Anyone that's seen it think I should go see it?

Saw this last night. I have to say it's better than I thought it would be. Visually it's probably the best movie of the year. The city scape is astonishing. In terms of plot it's like they wrote a script and only at the end did someone point out it was very much like Total Recall and so they changed some bits around to make it a loose remake.

I can't say I was disappointed as I thought it was going to be dreadful.

Tons and tons of subtle homages to other sci-fi movies. The Matrix, Star Wars, I Robot, Blade Runner and more.

Also a nod to the old movie with the woman with the 3 **** and the famous "two weeeeeks" woman.

All in I'd give it a 6.5/10.

Worth seeing on the big screen for the visuals alone.

From what i read Len Wiseman wanted this one based more on the story by Philip K Dick thats why its lil different


went and seen this a while back and enjoyed it, I don't think this remake is better then the original or anything along those lines they're both good in their own way.

Haven't read it so couldn't comment on how close it is to the 1st film suffice to say it's very different in terms of where it is set. Decent enough though. A lot better than I thought it would be.

I prefer old version.

I liked the new one quite a bit. I thought it was more of a sci fi movie than the older one.

The older one is still superior imo, though, and not by a little bit either.

Sharon Stone was hot, and Michael Ironside as the villain. That's all kinds of awesome.

Not bad, old one was better though.

Kate Beckinsale's character Lori was a bit too much of a badass, annoyingly so.
