Slight edge to the Avengers, but it depends of the power lvl of Strange.

Defenders or split.

Crap, that's a tough match-up. Very nice.

Defenders have 2 "Can-do-anything" types. Strange and Surfer.

Avengers only have 1. Thor.

You know, they guys that can do anything they want, or need to do and the only limit they have is the imagination of the writers.

Very Tough, I'm just giving the slight edge to defenders

Strange + Surfer better than Nova+Thor. Nova just doesn't make up the difference for t2.

Iron Man is the weakest person here for sure but Hulk is by far the least versatile.

But, the "Can Do Anything" guys are the ones that literally pull shi* out of their asses. Manipulating power sources, enhancing strength, controlling the environment, suddenly being able to control things they never controlled before, etc.

In an actual book, Tony Stark would probably be the wild card. Some weird plan, weapon, etc. Even though he is the weakest.

Sentry might not have the versatility of Surfer, Strange, or Thor, but even barring Void shenanigans, you could feasibly argue him being the most powerful person here. Of course, you'd definitely have to be willing to argue the point.

And there's the fact that you have the less versatile members such as Namor and Hulk on the Defenders where as the Avengers are generally more balanced in terms of power sets.

If it's Classic Strange, then Defenders.

Current Strange, Avengers win.
