Can't stand the character of the daughter... Liam Neeson's cool though, finally found a niche for himself.

Dumbass kidnappers can't even figure out Neeson is just trying to infiltrate their main base.

It does. The whole premise of the sequel makes sense based on the ending of the first one. He kills the guy, that guys father finds out who he is and kidnaps him on vacation where he's least expecting it. He gets to be badass once again and f his a up.

i thought the sequel was just gonna be him getting back in the game. whatev, as long as he kicks ass.

Basically he gets caught, gets his daughter to do some random boring stuff that nobody cares about, and then he kicks ass.

Oh shi-! I never got a chance to actually watch Taken, gonna have to now.

It's a good film, if you look past the stupidity of it and the offensive racial carachterisation (but then, I sat through From Paris With Love!).

Girls that age act stupid all the time. That's not unbelievable at all.

She was all he had left after years of neglecting his family for work and country, he wanted to be in her life.

You don't know how slavery auctions work, and hopefully the movie writers didn't either.

Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews from friends about it, but that doesn't matter to me, I'm a Neeson fan. Stuff always keeps getting in the way of watchin' movies these days, but I do plan on catching this one before the sequel.

kinda thought the same, but it has Liam Neeson, so it should be worth a look.

also despite being almost 50, Famke's hot, definitely worth poking her starfish.

I originally disliked Taken when I first saw it, because his bastard daughter Kim Bau-....I mean Mills was such a dumbass that she borderline deserved everything that happened. I've come to enjoy it upon repeat viewings though

Looks pretty good. Just hope the director is worth a shit. With a name like "Megaton," he has to be pretty good, right?

From a realistic standpoint though. A girl in her position with her upbringing would probably have similar things happen if she were in the same position.

But if the whole premise is revenge on Neeson for killing a bad guy's son...what's the point in kidnapping Neeson's wife & keeping her alive?

I'd either kill the wife outright & have the whole movie focussed on Neeson going ape-shit OR simply just focus on Neeson himself being hunted down.

You could argue him not knowing is worse because like in the 1st his imagination must have been working overtime, but I get what you're saying, it shouldn't have been a mirrored re-tread. I would have preferred your final scenario though, or even him doing some other covert mission for some shadowy people.

I've noticed lately that you seem to be interested in films if they're going to be a big hit. Monetary success does not make a film good (take Avatar for example). It will certainly be a shame if Taken 2 sucks..

actually no, i loved the first film, also a big fan of neeson..

yeah well whether or not a film is good or bad doesn't mean it won't be successful, just look at the twilight films for that reason.. also I have never ever cared what critics say so when someone comes in and says this or that critic doesn;t like a film, i will always and forever say who cares, critics do not pay my bills, they do not pay my tuition for school, they do not tell when to call someone or when not to call someone.. point being critics are there just to give their opinion like everyone else, however their opinion doesn;t mean anything because they will not persuade me from seeing a film they deem bad.. I will always go see films and judge for myself

I watch the trailer of this movie and i think it is better then taken -1.

Ok let me explain, first the steal the daughter, then they steal the mother, so naturally they would steal the grandmother? It wasn't ment to be literal.

Liam Neeson kicked everybody's ass.

Yeah it's a bad movie but as his huge fan I enjoyed it.

I am a big fan of the first taken movie, it not only had professional cinematography but great action, suspense and originality. Now this sequel i am ashamed to say was a money grab by the producers. Now Luc Besson and Robert wrote the original script without being pressured by their superiors to be limited to a marketable plot, unfortunately thats what has happened to Taken 2.

Was an ok movie. Not in the same level as the first one. Everything happened rather fast. No sense of urgency as in the first one. I wanted to see more out of Famke Jansen. She was knocked out for most of the movie. As for a third one, If it happens I hope they go in an entirely new direction even though they can continue with the family vengeance route. Am I the only one that thought the daughter's boyfriend could be one of the old man's sons/grandsons that were mentioned in the movie?. I give the movie a solid 5.5/10.

Ralph Fiennes can play the third one's villain.

Didn't like the movie (but was actually better than what my expectations were). Was the director different for this one? It really stood out to me how slow the choreographed fights were. The camera moved all over trying to make it look fast, but if you watched the actual action, it was step by step and slow.

Yeah, it's a different director, but i believe Luc Besson was still a writer for it.

not bad.. i liked it.. sometimes the critics are too harsh and some audiences are just jaded..

I saw the movie yesterday. It was good but it could've been better.

The only thing which i like in this movie are action scenes...What you think guys?

Saw this for cheap tonight. It wasn't bad. I can see why it didn't get great reviews, but it's about what I expected from a Taken sequel. The choppy editing was a little overdone at times, and there wasn't the same sense of urgency like there was in the original, but it was definitely entertaining. I look forward to seeing what the "new direction" will be like for part 3.

Just watched it today, was better than expected, I agree with the above comment, a new direction in a 3rd part would be welcome.

Taken 5 will feature Neeson's character getting alzheimers.

Nothing actually gets taken from him...he just forgets where he placed them.
