And in the context of comic versions, avoiding the need to play up both heros, Batman makes short work of Tony. Just turns on his EMP, shuts him down, and beats the piss out of him.

"Better" is subjective. It possibly could break the records set by the Avengers, in which case, it deserves all the credit in the world.

Not sure if you're serious here or if you legitimately think Batman could beat Iron Man without PIS...?

I suppose Wayne could take down Stark if Stark was functionally retarded, didn't have the tech to nullify EMPs, was on the receiving end of one sided prep, and didn't have the firepower needed to one shot Batman half a dozen ways.

Iron Man just tangled with Magneto. Who can generate world spanning EMP's in his sleep. Batman has nothing.
