He kinda has to since Magneto kills his team mates at the start. In fact the other X-men should make for some nice distractions.

Not as quickly though. Magneto can maintain shields while on the offense. Even though BRB could, I doubt he would take out the other X-men in one swoop, especially taking into account he has to defend against any attacks from Magneto at the same time.

And BRB can nuke the area with lightning fairly easily, even if Mags survives no else will with the possible exception being Namor.
