Ikaris vs Wonder Man

I'm trying to gauge where Wonder Man fits in the whole low/mid herald area, if at all, so I thought I'd try this battle out for a start.

Lets say the two being in the air above Cowboys stadium. In character, win by ko or death. No bfr. I'm not sure if Wonderman has changed much recently, so I'll say current and classic versions just in case one provides a better matchup than the other.

Lol, nope. He is an Eternal

the Darkone
WM stronger and more durable!!

PillarofOsiris
This is a good fight. I'm going to go with Ikaris though after a really long, tough battle.

Horrificus
Wonder Man for the win.

Wonder Man has an sizeable strength advantage Class 40 vs Class 95

Close fight...

Yeah, intially I was thinking that as well. But Ikaris does seem to have a high level of energy manip abilities along with his other developed Eternal perks.

Horrificus
Ikaris doesn't have the Juice to put Simon down.

carver9
Wonderman is stronger than Class 95. The guy just lifted a pyramid. He also have showings of lifting 50000 tons.

whacknasty
What types of energies can Ikaris manipulate? Woudl he be able to siphon or scramble Simon's whole ionic makeup at all? Or is he no longer primarily made up of ionic energy? It's been a while since I've read anything with him...lol

carver9
Naah, it appears he can turn his Ionic form on and off. Manipulating his energy might not work (even though Ironman contained him in some type of energy tube recently but this was with some prep, long prep on Ironman side).

Oh that is pretty awesome then. Does he suffer any losses statwise when he turns it off?

That is a good sign for Simon I would think, Tony needing that much time to figure out how to contain him.

Not that I know of...honestly, it appears that his Ionic form pops up when he is in a rage, pissed...I could be wrong though. Majority of the time, he is glowing purple but when he was fighting the Avengers recently, trying to take them out, he was in his Ionic mode. Does anyone else have any info on this.

I agree, I don't think Ikaris is manipulating him.

I'm pretty sure Thing has lifted a pyramid before too.

The official strength class rankings don't match up to the actual strength feats once you get out of the peak human range.

100 small cars equals 100 tons. Or a decent sized whale.

Absolutely no one in class 100 would be proud of being able to lift up the weight of 100 small cars, or a whale.

Anyway, the pyramid of giza by itself weighs millions of tons. I don't know whether lifting millions of tons is truly enough to make you a notable class 100. If anything, I would say lifting a million tons is the absolute bare minimum of a strength feat you would need (outside of comparisons to other people), to qualify as a class 100.

carver9
I don't remember Thing lifting a Pyramid. If you can lift millions of tons, that makes you a 100 tonner.

Grey Hulk casually toss a Pyramid.

http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/11948644/11.jpg.html

Simon catches it (even though he strains a bit).

http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/11948645/12.jpg.html

Then he tosses it.

http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/11948646/13.jpg.html

Now if you look at previous showings with high Heralds vs Pyramids (not saying any names), they struggle to lift it. Simon and Hulk doing this, the WEAKEST version of Hulk, is an AMAZING ft.

Not when the pyramid was dropped on them or when Wonderman tossed it.

Sin I AM
Ikaris is no class 40 btw

Horrificus
Wonder Man was meant to be a non-flying version of Superman.
He was created to be an unbalanced threat to "top-tiers".

You can't prove what happened when the pyramid was dropped. That wasn't drawn. What was shown though was Iron man helping hold up the pyramid.

Second photo clearly shows iron man hunched over holding the pyramid. as does the third.

That was practically an Elite level showing by Fixit, he completely overpowered early West Coast era Wonder Man the moment he got pissed and shrugged of Centurion Iron Man.

What's up buddy? Long time no see. You forgot about the Rulk showing as well.

Ikaris, after a long tough fight. He's done some ridiculous sh|t. I remember during an old Avengers arc (when they were trying to find a way to save Gilgamesh), he two shotted Classic Blaastar! Thor even had the "WTF just happened" look on his face when he saw it.
