Plagueis as depicted in his titular EU novel by James Luceno vs. Russell as portrayed in seasons 3 and 5 of True Blood.

They fight in an open field.

mmm Giving Plagueis the win just because he's from the the SW EU.

Plagueis disintegrates him.

He'd kick his ass in a fist fight as well though, being faster and stronger.

Plagueis doesn't exhibit anything particularly cosmic in terms of destructive power (no planet-killers or anything); but he moves at comparable speeds to Russell, has similar damage soak, and can put his fists through armored torsos of Jedi-killing mercenaries while mortally injured.

I was hoping for more of a contest, but if it is determined that the fight is lopsided too much in Plagueis's favor, we'll throw in Godric to aid Russell.

I'll do my best to substantiate the following with clips, but Bill (a relative neophyte to someone of Russell's caliber) was able to replicate tornado damage: uprooting trees, flipping trailers, etc.

Bill tousled with Russell in season 3; the first time, Bill jumps on Russell's shoulders to stake him, prompting Russell to shrug, which hurls Bill straight up and into the ceiling; the second time, Russell essentially teleports behind him and beats the shit out of him rather casually.

Other times, Russell has decapitated vampires by merely slapping them, untied a bound vampire and wrapped her captor in the chains that had bound her in a blur of movement, stopped a car with one hand, etc. and so forth.

Well, you're certainly better at supporting the vamps than Quan is. All he managed for ages was Russel stopping that car, which was braking at the time.

All that would make this a much closer fight than I anticipated, and might flip my view of a few previous threads on their heads.

If you make a claim, the burden is on you to prove it. Saying Russell Edgington is powerful is the claim, not the proof.

The only expectation that's relevant here is the one that's been in place in debates since time immemorial: you make a claim, you back it up.

Neph or anyone else has every right to criticize you for withholding proof (for whatever reason) if that's what you've been doing.

No, if someone in a Superman thread demands I prove he can fly I don't have to it's just ignorance. Most people are ignorant when it comes to Russell and want to argue against him anyway. I posted one youtube link and they are lucky I went that far.

Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? I thought not; it's not a story the Jedi would tell you.

Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create... life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about... from dying.

I didn't read the books so I won't give my opinion since I haven't. I don't ever base my opinion off of feats alone. I need the entire picture not a few slides.

Lol I know who he is. Given that he is a Sith that appears in the EU, he probably wins. Insane feats in the EU.

Kinda, sorta. Plagueis has no cosmic-level power projection like EU!Sidious and a handful of others, but he is fairly beastly:

He can move his body faster than sentient eyes and droid photoreceptors can perceive
He can conjure Force waves that "all but atomize" assailants on the fly, unleash Force-enhanced screams to shatter eardrums, and conjure Force shields that make him impervious to physical attacks from non-Force users

Just based off of this he seems to have less physical strength than Russell, but being invisible to droids via speed would make him faster.

These force shields, what kind of attacks have they taken? If it's blaster bolts and lightsabers, I doubt Russell is ever getting through them. Does Plagueis wield a lightsaber?

EDIT: Just read the excerpts. Right now it looks like he can blitz Russell's head off to me. If those shields take Vibroblades Russell isn't hurting him.

Possibly. Plagueis, though a vicious fighter, has access to the Force which makes him less reliant on physical strength; and certainly Russell has put his strength on display more than Plagueis.

On the other hand, putting your fist through armored torsos while having suffered severe blood loss due to multiple, severe lacerations and cardiac arrest is impressive and is comparable to Russell's attempt to play chiropractor.



They've taken melee attacks from unarmed civilians and armed attacks from the Maladian assassins (at least until further blood loss diminished his near-depleted energy reserves).

Well after reading those, I definitely think Plagueis wins. And pretty easily at that.

This would be much more fair without his Force powers. As it is, he is fast enough to tag Russel with one of those atomising waves.

Let's drop offensive Force powers then and add... someone else?
