Doomsday versus Magneto

Magneto has been shown footage of DD's initial rampage through Superman and the other DC heroes.

Who takes this battle and how?

Explain your reasoning.

DarkSaint85
Magneto chucks him into space, having seen what the monster is capable of.

Villelater
into space you say?...interesting Happy Dance

DarkSaint85
Or is BFR not allowed?

armedforbattle
First, Magneto questions who the heroes are that arent getting stomped on.
Once the battle begins he throws every chunk of metal in the area at doomsdays head.
If there is no metal around then this thread is pointless.
Mags 6/10

After the decided lack of responses I got to my "Maddrox versus Batman" thread, I'm reconsidering whether it's better to err toward more restrictive scenarios to encourage responses. People seem to be paralyzed by the prospect of multiple and/or realistic options on this board ...

Till that time, though, I am as I always am, going for as much realism and freedom as possible -- BFR is definitely allowed.

I've read some of the DD stuff a while back but not all of it. Did anyone actually try stuff like throwing him into orbit, sticking purely to range attacks, TP assaults, magic/sleeping spells/magic lasso etc, transmutation,, blinding him somehow, teleporting him to space/other dimensions/black holes and so on?

With all the Green Lanterns, mages, fliers with range attacks, energy manipulators, telepaths and so on surely there wasn't any need to go near the guy.

Supes tried to BFR him in his first apperance didn't go well, in Hunter / Prey they BFRed him into the end of time. I don't think TP works but I can't recall a single TP resistance feat. Range attacks usually are pointless against DD cause he tanked or no sold them.

They bfr'd him in DD wars and in Hunter Prey as well.
It's just plot that they don't do it. Think of Wwh no one ever tried to bfr him butit worked against him before since that's why he started war against the heroes. It would have been funny to see Hulk "Im back" then Dr Strange would have just bfr him into space again.

Sin I AM
Bfr doesn't make for a good story though, that's why its never used. Otherwise every brick from hulk to doomsday to juggernaut would be owned in one panel

DTM
Doomsday wrecks Magneto so bad, its not even funny. Not even close IMO.

-Pr-
In any kind of straight fight, DD would win. Magneto's best option is to bfr.

Mindset
Beside the fact that he can't do it, what's stopping Magneto from absorbing the energy of a solar system and oneshotting DD in his newly acquired skyfather form?

DTM
Er, since when can Magneto do that? smile

DarkSaint85
He can draw power from other planets....

We know that Mags can draw power from Jupiter (that one time feat) but we don't know what his limit is.

Any straight fight has Mags losing. Bfr is the only option here.

JakeTheBank
Doomsday, welcome to DIE

Glorificus
Magneto can open wormholes...

So BFR is definitely a viable option.

Magneto didn't just pull energy from one planet, he was pulling it from multiple of planets. Enough planets that he was able to feel phoenix destroying them.

We must be talking about different comics then. Which one are you referring to? I'm referring to the one where Mags stated to be pulling from Jupiter.

You're talking about the same comic.

Examine the narration of the following more closely.

Magneto does indeed start pulling energy from planets other than Jupiter.

Rather more amazing to me is how accurate his prediction is concerning the phoexnix 5 ...

I'm actually surprised to see as many people vote in favor of Doomsday as I have. Given this unexpected turn, I'll go ahead and include the detail I was going to include at the beginning but decided against for fear of this thread being called spite against Doomsday:

Orbiting the battlefield, within easy reach of either combatant, is a low orbiting satellite comprised of primary (i.e. the most durable form of) adamantium.

There is enough adamantium in this satellite, in fact, to encase a Hulk-sized being in a sphere with walls 10 feet thick.

Magneto can shape this metal with scarcely more trouble than he would iron or steel (because, such is, like, his power and all).

He's minded to use it to trap Doomsday. Would such succeed?
Would Doomsday have any chance of getting out of such imprisonment?
Would such give Magneto an automatic victory or do you still think Doomsday would need to be sent away?

DarkSaint85
Can Mags manipulate and shape adamantium after its solidified? I'm assuming for this thread he can.

Where did this satellite come from?

An unconfirmed source maintains it came from Lisheen Mine in North Tipperary. A bit puzzling if true ...

Almost 20 years ago now, though, until you wrote this, I never realized just how much time has passed since that story ...

Can Doomsday survive or recover from/be brought back from complete physical annihilation, as in the violent conversion of his entire physical body into energy?

This is a neutral universe, though. How does Adamantium exist?

laughing out loud

By that reasoning, how does Doomsday exist?

There are two kinds of neutral universes from my understanding, P.R.

Type 1: Nothing special and intrinsic to Marvel or DC exists.
Type 2: Objects normally specially intrinsic to a specific universe are assumed to be COMMON to both universes and at least casually familiar to both contestants (whatever that means in DD's case).

I just ran with the 2nd scenario.

Proof is right in my first post:

Doomsday's initial rampage took place entirely in the DC Universe.
Any footage recorded of the event would also have taken place entirely in the DC U. How would Magneto ever get knowledge and access to something specialized like THOSE particular videotapes WITHOUT this being a setting where DC and Marvel objects are spread about?
