This scenario is an amalgam of the The End and Infinity Gauntlet arcs.
The setting is the same as in The End, however there is a twist, rather than Wonder Man being the cause of the crisis, the new culprit is Thanos himself when he had the IG. So essentially it's Thanos from The End vs Infinity Gauntlet Thanos. Can Thanos out smart himself and steal the IG?
Stipulations: IG Thanos is unaware of TE Thanos's existence, just as TE Thanos was unaware of Adam Warlock's.
TE Thanos has the help of the Defenders (Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, Genis-Vel, Namor, and Hulk).
