I think I have low-t

I feel like my testosterone is low because my mood is more negative than it used to be. My sex-drive has also been deteriorating, to a much greater degree than my mood. My sd used to be uncontrollable, now it's just not there at all most, pretty much all of the time.

I'm seeing stagnant results in improved definition from intense core, compound, and isolated lifts, regular cardio and bodyweight exercises, and good nutrition. My body weight exercises have been the only things to actually increase consistently, my lifts aren't really improving at all. I have developed insomnia and tendencies to miss nights of sleep, I never feel rested when I do sleep.

There's a lot that could have brought on low-t. I was starving myself for a time, I was pulling all-nighters, I did get hit in the groin area a while back. I have been generally overexerting my body, and sometimes when I urinate it's painful, may be from an infection?

EDIT: Please move to General Discussion.

You'd want it moved to the OTF, actually.

You shouldn't seek medical advice from a Message Board full of non-medical professionals.

However, I can help:
Go to the doctor and get your blood serum levels tested. If it is below 350 ng/dL, you have hypogonadism. But you're young enough that it could just be acute rather than permanent.

Eat more animal fats, protein, and fiber; cut back on the intense exercise. Meditate at about 1 hour before you normally go to sleep and keep a very regular sleep schedule. Try to have a healthy relationship (sexual) with a female or male companion (your choice...I ain't judgin') and have plenty of sexual intercourse.

You should see an improvement in not only mood but your test levels. Be sure and take an Omega-3 supplement if you are not doing so.

Lastly, if you do not do anything religious, start to do something. You do not have to choose a religion based on God, if that is not your thing. Even being an atheistic humanist will definitely help improve your mood. I say avoid extreme religions that get to restrictive and dogmatic on your personal behaviors. Just something to improve your mood and help you become more active in your community.

I plan on getting it tested.

Perhaps I should focus on one thing at a time.

Isolation lifts aren't strenous so they can be kept in there with the three core lifts (Squat, Bench, and Deadlift (I'm training for power so deadlift has been replaced by Hangcleans). Or, if I'm training for bodyweight, I could, instead of core, do my calisthenics at the local park's playground.

But maximal progression only arises from consistent conditioning for at least a couple of months.

You do no cardio? Lots of cardio reduces your test.

So cut back on exercising and improve your diet to be test friendly.

Cardio is neccessary for improved muscle definition, then again so is testosterone. Without cardio your big muscles mean nothing, because then it's just a little bit more than BMR everyday and to maintain testosterone levels you would be slowly putting on the pounds with adipose tissue.

However, in both training for power and pound for strength, those two alternates I mentioned, your training cardio big...as well as when you apply your isolation lifts to the mid section, lower back, obliques and upper and lower abdomen. Isolation is for the entire body, because healthy proportion between major groups in overall muscle mass is necessary, especially for bodyweight strength ratio.

Lastly, if you're gaining mass, it's very difficult for you not to be training cardio, and very difficult for your metabolism to allow your body to gain or even maintain body fat. That's why you need to make sure you're getting enough rest and fats, because your testerone is liable to start decreasing, and that will effect your performance negatively, which will alt or even reverse muscle growth.

So cutting back on cardio means, to you, sitting around and doing nothing? Got it.

Keep in mind, you asked for advice. smile

I agree with you.

That's I why I said it would be better to do one at a time. When I'd be training for power I would only be exercising three days a week.

High-cholesterol, high-blood pressure, etc, can decrease testosterone too. Exercise helps regulate those things, ergo cardio improves circulation of blood-flow. So working out does help as well.

Contrary to popular medical opinion (which is wrong), a diet high in cholesterol does not necessarily mean an individual will have high cholesterol (they are almost non-correlative). Arterial inflammation and oxidative stress are the causes of high serum cholesterol. You do need those animal fats, however, to produce important hormones like testosterone. High fiber, moderate exercise (notice I didn't say "intense"?), and being well-rested will help with cholesterol issues.

Thread is done: tell us what your lab results are. smile

Dolos:

When was the last time you took a break from training?
- negative mood
- stagnant results
- poor sleep
- lower immunity
- etc

Offhand, sounds like overtraining is at least part of your problem, overdoing both intensity and volume.

Are you on any kind of medication? Mood change and loss of libido could be side-effects of many.

My advice: Just go see a doctor.

Only things I take are insoline and calicium pyruvate supplements to increase my insoline sensitivity and provide my body with fat burning pyruvic acid.

I'm not going to google search (because I'm at work) but what is insoline? I've never heard of that, before (not being sarcastic). You may mean insulin but you could actually mean insoline which is a different thing.

Symmetric Chaos
Have you considered that you might just be stressed and that the new TV ads for "low-T" are giving you a new way to medicalize the issue? Anxiety has all the symptoms you report and is much more common.

Dolos
Yeah, I take Insulow and max strength Calcium Pyruvate.

Insulow contains zero insulin, but it increases insulin sensitivity - which is something you can't benefit from just cennomon, or omega 3's, or anything else containing insulin. Now that I'm mostly through both of these bottles my natural weight has decreased by about 7 pounds in a few months, and that's on a full stomach through the whole day everyday. I am 5'11" and weigh 177 pounds, I can do handstand pushups (with only my feet touching the wall), and squat 230+ without bending my back, and going just below a 90 degree angle at my knees. However, my lifts are mostly stagnant, and I supplement them with hangcleans. My abs are no more visible than they were at weight 185, just bigger. I only have my four top abs visible at the moment, and yet those bottom two above my belly button just won't come out at all. My obliques and lower back are getting all the attention they should need on the roman chair, and both sections of my front abdomen on the declined sit-up bench. Yes I will weigh less the next morning and my mid-section will look more womanly than before. My hips protrude, and my ribs are visible from behind, I don't see obliques in the pictures of me. I look at myself and I might as well be 185 again.

Yep.

The tests don't lie.

sad

They said the reason for my woo haw problems was completely physiological, they had some name for it but I can't remember.

They said over stimulation from hardcore unrealistic porn and overmasturbation had caused some problems, they said take four weeks off and my hormones and age should overcome it if I stop masturbating like that (with a certain "friction" they said) and just try other things, and no more hardcore porn or anything.

Oliver North
lol, who are "they"?

Me.

First the nurse then my normal doctor, then he recomended me to a urologist after the test.

The urologist said that in the last 6 months (since the last time I'd had sex) my penis had become disassociated from the real thing, because it had become accostumed to the way I had been masturbating.

Said it was easily fixable, your brain just has to "forget" the stimulation of masturbating pretty much.
