How many heroes die before the Decepticons are stopped?

bluewaterrider
None, if this is brought to the attention of Magneto in time ...

But, for that matter, having read a few of the early adventures of Transformers in Marvel Comics in the mid-1980s, I cannot say I remember any Decepticon ever deliberately killing any single human or group of human beings, though Shockwave, stopped by Bumblebee (of ALL Autobots to use!) came CLOSE to doing so ...

Endless Mike
Which Manhattan is this? Marvel, DC, real life?

And which version of the Decepticons?

ThereIsHope
There are versions?

Its Marvel manhattern

Its the comic book versions of The Decepticons

ThereIsHope
Its the IDW Publishing Version

Magneto is the new hero of Marvel due to him stopping the giant robot menace. Reports from Japan still insist the giant robots now identified as 'decepticons' were just lost and confused And call the graphic display of power used by The former villain Magneto that aired on all news stations as nothing more than 'violent pornography'. Currently while the president of the united states is honoring the former mutant terrorist with a medal the Japanese government in a joint endeavor with alien robot sympathizer are pushing charges of 'genocide' on the Jewish holocaust survivor for slaughtering a huge percent of a dying specie.

.....in short I think magneto solos perhaps after a handful of heroes die for the sake of magneto isn't really a 'first responder' like dudes like spiderman.

current Magatron have a cannon that can level a city..i don't know how many will die from that blast..and he was durable enough to tank a kinetic harpoon without a scratch..the heroes would have a hard time putting him down..

No, if we're basing it off the Marvel Comic version of these guys, he's right. At least about the capability aspect.
Where he is mistaken is in thinking Megatron would actually be driven to do that, for it would conflict with Megatron's personality and goals.

For I remember, I even HAVE this somewhere in my collection, a stat sheet written to go with the first stories Marvel released for the Transformers. They were analagous to the "tech specs" that appeared on the actual Transformers toys being sold at the time.

This particular one, featured below, I found online, since my own scanner is not properly equipped for the job currently (not to mention that I'd have to find the &*%$ book after all these years to begin with).
The image may be difficult to read so I'm transcribing what it says into text right after this paragraph, relevant sections bolded.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Megatron

Allegiance: Decepticon
Function: Decepticon Leader
First Appearance: Transformers #1

"Everything is fodder"

Profile: Love, compassion, mercy, are words that have no meaning for Megatron. He has risen to the leadership of the Decepticons by a combination of brute strength, military cunning, ruthlessness, and terror.
On Cybertron, he was commanding general in charge of all military operations against the Autobots, who referred to him, as "The Slag-Maker".
It was a title of fear.
A title of respect.
A title Megatron relished.

His banishment to Earth has only made him more bitter, and more evil-minded, if that is possible. He aches to return to Cybertron and complete his mission of eradicating the Autobots.
But while on Earth, he is dedicated to eliminating those Autobots marooned here with him -- and his plans go far beyond that.

He realizes the Earth is one huge stockpile of metal and fuel resources, and means to possess it all, with the aid of his fellow Decepticons.

But his plans go even further, plans so grandiose even his fellow Decepticons are unaware: Megatron intends to enslave the entire human race. He allows no exceptions to his motto.

Abilities: Megatron is incredibly powerful and intelligent, the equal of autobot leader Optimus Prime. His fusion cannon can convert any small amount of matter into large quatities of explosive nuclear energy.
The cannon can fire a blast up to 12 miles and release enough energy to flatten a small town.

Megatron can use his internal circuitry to connect the cannon interdimensionally with a black hole, where it can draw on anti-matter as its power source. The blast from this is far greater, but it creates a tremendous strain on Megatron to do this for even one blast.

Weaknesses: Megatron has no known weaknesses.

T'challa put Megatron in an armbar

But on a serious note if any real teams show up the Desepticons are screwed

I'm not really sure how powerful the IDW versions are

If we're talking IDW 'cons at their best, they could do quite a bit of damage.

I mean as it's been mentioned, Megatron's railgun was stated to be able to level an entire city and it did serious damage to the dead universe gestalt on Cybertron.

Also, which Decepticons? Because in IDW the Decepticon empire includes hundreds if not thousands of bots, and has some like Sixshot who have single handedly brought down entire civilisations.

ThereIsHope
Im guessing the main Decepticons not the entire civilization.
