I think Abominus, Predaking, and Devastator are the most powerful.

Devestator is my personel fave but that is probably because he was the first.

What no thunder cracker?! I'm disappointed.

Thundercracker isn't a COMBINER
at least not as far as i recall.

It's between Predaking and Abominous, imo.

Devastator is by far best design, but in every media he's usually the weakest combiner, on account of being the prototype.

In IDW, Predaking beat down Bruticus, and in Devil's Due GI Joe and the Transformers, he beat Piranacon. He also got his ass kicked by Megatron, but that only prove leader bots are > combiners, at least in the comics..

Going with Predaking, due to his intelligence, near perfect combination of personalities, and speed edge. If a glorified nerd, Computron, can take him, a hunter/warrior like Pred should massacre him..

He keeps Starscream as his second in command to keep him on his toes, because he knows he'll betray him, and he thinks SS's bullying tactics keep the rank and file in line. But that doesn't explain why Starscream can't do all that from a number 3 or 4 position, instead of number 2. As if he'd bully Soundwave?

The obvious answer, is Megatron has full confidence his numbers 3 and 4, who are much better leaders, would depose Starscream without much trouble.

So basically, he's not doing Starscream a favor by making him his second, he's just putting a massive target on his back while giving his real favorites an easy target if he croaks. and leaving it to the strongest among them to emerge as the new leader. It's the Decepticon way to take power by force, and hold onto it, over being hand picked as a new leader.

IDW Starscream gets a lot of bots to listen to him on Cybertron.



Anyway, I say Predaking. He's smart, skilled, and powerful all in one. Generally only Skylynx beats him. Also, if he's broken up, his individual components don't suck either.



Dreamwave. So far, IDW doesn't have Predaking. It has Monstructor, Devastator, Menasor, and Superion as combiners, that's it.

And Monstructor's kind of an odd combiner, if you consider he tore apart Omega Supreme with ease, yet has a big glaring weakness that lets a master sniper or someone with perfect aim like Optimus or Perceptor take him out in one shot.

I never heard of Monstructor before.

Megatron keeps Starscream at his right hand because he knows while Starscream is capable, he's not capable enough to take him down. That's not true with Soundwave and Shockwave, both of who Megatron respects to the point of not trusting them as much as he could, because he knows if they betray him, there's a good chance they'll get the better of him.

He's the original combiner in IDW history. And probably the strongest, looking at his fight with Omega here:

He looks unbeatable, but also has a weakness that makes him manageable.. Can't imagine who could stop him if they removed the weakness..

Probably the Beast. Which is all the Dinobots merged into a pretty much similarly unstoppable gestalt. Only difference is it's a total berserker and will attack anyone in range.

Also it's from a horrible story Despite it's power, it died form a fall off a cliff, so it's really off, most of the others could shrug that.

That's more PIS than anything imo. We can't kill it, so how do we kill it? THrow it off a cliff.

Like when Omega Red got ko'd by a fall when Nightcrawler teleported him.

Can't beat the guy, so make up a bs excuse for him to lose.

Reminds me of that Star Trek episode where a friend of Kirks becomes a virtual god. Shrugs off phasers and creates life out of thin air, but gets stopped by when a bunch of rocks falls on top of him.

That's Gary Mitchell. Went through a phase warp when his ship malfunctioned or something and the event horizon did indeed make him pretty much a god.

He might be the villain in the new Trek movie.

The whole story was dumb. It wasn't part of any wider continuity, btw, it was a short 'microcontinuity' comic.
