No, Kyp is not stronger than Luke /thread.

Yea. Kyp's very sure of himself but that's not the same thing.

I wasn't sure if it was Kyp's thoughts or the author's.

"He knew he was stronger" is not the same as "Kyp is stronger". What a character thinks he knows only goes so far.

At that point of the series Kyp actually was. Luke was out of practice as for many years he used Force as least as possible. In second book Luke got tired even after short fight with three Vongs. As series progress Luke gets back into shape and Kyp falls short behind.

So ultimately, down to brass tacks... Luke is stronger than Kyp.

You only need to look at a few of Luke's high end feats to know Kyp is definitely not stronger or even on par with him based on consistent showings.
