How does the OP negate that showing and the sheer fear and desperation Hal felt when Superman was owning his constructs and his pride? Was Hal less experienced? Yep. Does that automatically cancel the showing? Nope.

I need to get into the GL books again. Quit when Kyle was mastering the different colored rings and teamed up with Hal's chick.

Hal certainly has the benefit of being able to "keep" most of his monster feats under Johns. Early Justice League n00b Hal doesn't really begin to compare to vet GL. And I think the gap between early JL Hal to current Hal is larger than early JL Superman to current Superman.

The fact that Superman is able and willing to speedblitz a high-herald is what's relevant here, not the fact that his punches didn't turn his face into mush, when that's blatantly shown as not being Superman's intention in the first place.

And also, Superman has blitzed Hal before, in Justice League. So there's that.

Anybody can bumrush. Not everybody can speedblitz. We both know the difference. Orion wasn't as amused earlier, when Superman punched him harder than he ever was beforehand.

Imo, of course. Vet GL Hal was still, at best, evenish with Wonder Woman. And that's a generous interpretation for Hal.

Fact of the matter is, even if it was 5 years ago, the relative portrayal to one another will remain. Superman will still be the overwhelming force. He was then, he will be now. And speculating on how much 'they improved' in those years won't change that - on the contrary, with Wonder Woman as a staple of comparison (she hasn't gotten a power upgrade, as far as we know), the Superman of 5 years ago would also beat the utter shit out of current Hal.
