Atom Smasher would have a lot better shot if he still had the abilities he had in Infinity Inc and JLA. Altering his molecular density to become intangible and super dense/ durable. It's never really been shown since then, only his ability to alter his mass ( and that only when he goes up against BA in JSA before 52)
