abraxas is basically a being from another dimension where the normal laws of physics don't apply, as you can see he was able to physically trap waverider:

then he explains to the people who summoned him that he will transform them into daemons so that they can built for him simulacrum (physical form) in 4 different eras so he can conquer this universe, and then the others (the multiverse)

and how do they do that? the JSA , at one point, were empowered by their norse counterparts (power of the gods) to change the outcome of the twilight of the gods event which hitler caused, they were doing it in the limbo (which is beyond space and time), so the spectre arrives at this particular instance and the waverider was able to freeze time at that point so that the heroes (who are amped by the power of the gods) could go on and fight abraxis in his dimension

here comes the impressive part:

so now, the heroes go into abraxis' dimension, and they see his true physical form, they think he is helpless since his consciousness has been divided into 4 physical forms in the new earth universe (those 4 eras) but this proves to be untrue, and now they have 5 forms to deal with, so they all attack him simultaneously (including the spectre) in all those 4 timelines and his own dimension, and even then this proves not enough

Wow. Awesome stuff. He kind of reminds me of Sun King, who fought in different timelines, simultaneously.

^yeah, that's a fairly good comparison, not only was he fighting in different timelines but he was kind of defeated the same way, by cutting his power source in the last issue of the shadowpact series (issue 25)
